There are already a few things listed that are not on random items,
but you need magical essence to craft those shards.

Seeing as the other resources are unbound,
sure hope the quest pack ones are too.
Let others farm them, i'll buy them from the auction house with crystal cove plat.

I assume you're referring to the items that drop out of Devil Assault - I believe those are effectively named items. Even though they appear like random lootgen drops, there's only a few possibilities of how those items turn out, similar to sup potency (never see anything except +3 sup pot VI).

    Meta-game is meta-value!

We no longer rely on random loot. Isn't the whole point of crafting to let people have the items they don't yet own?

While it would still be a lame money grab on Turbines part, it would be nice if any of the fish/vessels/etc could drop in any end reward list as long as you owned the aforementioned packs. Own only the Restless Isles and Threnal? Then even when you're running Amrath you have a chance for vessels and goblets to appear on the end reward list.

If you really needed, say, an urn you could run an Orchard quest where ~only~ urns can appear on the end rewards.

Also kind of surprised that a crafting ingredient doesn't show up in Three-Barrel, considering some of the packs these ingredients drop in.

I noticed the Q&A mentioned Crafting exp is not lost on TR. What was the source for this confirmation?

Half of these are quests that I run-once-and-done for favor, and never see again. I'd like to assume that unless people are looking for specific named items out of them, most people are the same.

Not to mention... end reward lists? Sorrowdusk and Threnal, if I remember correctly, make you do like 3-4 quests at a time for a single end reward. Even if this is a 100% guaranteed in-the-list drop... why not make it content that we actually want to do? Give me something useful from, for example, Amrath quests. Normally the best thing I see in those lists is a Major Mana Pot.
$$$ - Sorrowdusk Isle, The Restless Isles, The Ruins of Threnal - these adventure packs are not as popular as others.

If the wiki is to be believed there is not much you have to worry about. There are NO bursts listed, no greater banes, no evil outsider, and no pure good. So nobody is going to be able to craft anything remotely close to what you listed.

After reading the wiki I'm pretty sure we won't be able to craft anything valuable at all. Needless to say I'm disappointed as the way this was original billed was that you would be able to take your EXISTING weapons and change ONE thing on it, whether it was the enhancement, prefix, or suffix. Heck, I can't even upgrade the weapons I currently own since the way its implemented I'm required to start with a blank and I can't add what I already have (greater banes, bursts, pure good, bleeding, paralyzing, vorpal, regular and improved cursespewing / destruction / shattermantle, major lores, superior clickies, etc.).

Yeah looking at it weapons wont be too exiting. Would have loved to be able to make weapons like Flametouched Vorpal of Desception, but it seems like ill only be able to make thundering flametouched of deception :|

Accessories do look nice though: striding 20 of jumping 15, wisom +6 of concentration 15, anything with Intimidation 15.... lots of very good and unique stuff here.

Shields: well either we can craft our shields with guards or (more likely seeing how shields have been treated so far) we will get a shield with Freezing and Flaming on shieldbash
If it actually worls as a guard that would be really really really really really really really really really really really really nice!
    Same for armor.

Also is something like sneak attack bound to a weapon? (*chokes Sulu with Tharnes Googles*).

Well all in all i think there are a few very nice options and i do hope vorpal and such will be added.

P.S.: Just dreaming here but if i can make sneak attack googles of deception, I'll be a happy rogue!

Not sure why everyone is complaining.

I will put it this way... Name me one mmorpg that has crafting that doesnt include some form of grind.

I think it is actually a good idea to have some crafting components as end rewards of not so run quests, not directly aimed towards the vets, but for all the new people who are levelling who can from lvl 1 work towards getting the stuff needed to craft whilst running the quests at level, having specifics in not so run packs means more people will buy said packs to be able to craft.

It is wrong of us as long term players to immediately dooooom the new crafting system, when tbh it is not aimed at us, yes we are caught up in it, but it is developed for everyone, not just us, the everyone includes all those new players, the ones that turbine hopes will become long term players and invest money into the game.

I see this only being for the best for the future of the game.

    just my 2 cents worth

Then again, repeated zerging of trivial quests for important crafting ingredients is not my idea of "fun". Hopefully, those ingredients are just there to allow crafting of specific level-appropriate items, i.e., somewhat better than you'd expect from their end rewards, not core parts of all crafting, especially end-game item crafting.
are the ingrediants bound ot charactor or account? maybe we could buy them/trade for them?

The Wiki is almost certainly incomplete. It would be absurd to allow crafting of only Wisdom and Strength items, for example.

I do wonder whether Greater Banes will make it in.

They are valuable because they are rare and there is a high demand for them, because of how powerful they are.

If the only difference in cost between a good DPS weapon for trash, and the best weapon in the game, is a regular Silver Khopesh, then the whole top-end of the economy gets lobbed off.

Crafting should allow for people to make what they want, but not without a reasonable amount of effort for the power of the item. If Holy Silver GEOB becomes easy to craft, the devs have to put massive power creep in place to produce new weapons worth Raiding for.

I'm hoping they have more then just 'suffix' and 'prefix' as options for this system.

That regimented system is part of what led to the stagnant trash loot we have today.

I would like to see a more free flowing system that depended upon the item properties adding up in a formula to determine ML as the real limiting factor.

I'm hoping it starts out as just prefix and suffix, but that the whole system is designed extensibly enough that this restriction can easily be removed later once the devs better understand how crafting affects game balance.
