It seems unlikely that they would break their own restrictions for effects on the wrong type of weapon.

It wouldn't be the first time they forgot to check something when changing how it was being applied.

Absorption is not a random gen property, and yet it is among the confirmed properties for the new crafting system.
That's because people fail to understand:
    • Item with enhancement gets turned into magical essence
    • magical essence into shard with an enhancement
    • shard gets fused with item you want to place it on

so for example, you turn a wand with fire lore, into arcane\fire magical essence
and the essence into a flaming shard
and add the flaming shard to a rapier

This type of goblet can only be found in quest end-reward lists in the area of The Ruins of Threnal.

This type of plant can only be found in quest end-reward lists in the area of The Vale of Twilight.
This type of urn can only be found in quest end-reward lists in the area of The Orchard of the Macabre.

    Anyone notice the above?

Half of these are quests that I run-once-and-done for favor, and never see again. I'd like to assume that unless people are looking for specific named items out of them, most people are the same.

Not to mention... end reward lists? Sorrowdusk and Threnal, if I remember correctly, make you do like 3-4 quests at a time for a single end reward. Even if this is a 100% guaranteed in-the-list drop... why not make it content that we actually want to do? Give me something useful from, for example, Amrath quests. Normally the best thing I see in those lists is a Major Mana Pot.
I think I'm going to cry. This was the biggest thing I was looking forward to with the new update. Now that it's going to be a grind-fest from hell to max out my character's crafting ability, not so much.

I'm sorry I reread what I posted and I wasn't clear in wht I was trying to say.

What I meant to say was that I have read somewhere that the collectables currently in game, like Smoldering Embers or Prayer Beads, would be made part of the new crafting system as they add more later on. I seem to remember a statlemnt like "... at first it will require all new components but later on it will include the current collectables..." or something like that.

Again I can't remember where I saw it but I think it was poste by someone who attended PAX and was told that there.

I thought of that but remembered how WoP or WoE suck now in many situations. Maybe in U9 they'll be viable again as mob immunities are toned down.

I remember that too, but I think the quote is quite a bit older than PAX.

Kinda good in the respect of a TR, get at least something worthwhile besides subpar XP in some of those quest chains.

last i heard, the only part of epic ward that is changing is the immunity to death effects. maybe the quasi-immunity to charm as well, though i doubt that.

The crafting is not yet available on Lammania, which is why threads (such as this one) are so full of speculation and so devoid of fact.

Meaning I cannot put force burst on my weapons if I strip it from one weapon to add to another? Or do I need some super-secret recipe to put force burst on a weapon? What of metalline? Curious minds must know!

    Default Fishy Fishy I O

Just ran through a Sorrowdusk chain.

    Mystical Dried Fish

    * This old dried fish appears unremarkable but contains a hidden power that can be used in high level crafting recipes.
This kind of fish can only be found in quest end-reward lists in the area of Sorrowdusk Isle.

It is BTA and in the end quest chain reward list.

Hoping that these rewards just grant some sort of effect not usually found on random items. Or maybe used to transmute one effect into another.
