^^ this
but be careful, doing so may cause you to be labeled as a "s*** talker" and get you booted from someone's group.
lol
but in all seriousness, if i witness bs in the trade channel, ill probably say so...if its a bit above a reasonable price then i dont care...
spamming trade channels in the market and harbor to try to buy valuable ioun stones for dirt cheap and then come right to the market forums THE SAME DAY and repost them for waaay more than you bought them is scandalous...and ill probably call you a lowballer in said trade channel for doing so...its public...deal with it

in regards to the op:
you are correct, it is yours, and you may list it however you would like.
if you do so by means of a public chat channel, then you are openly subject to scrutiny.
if you have something very rare and valuable, what someone thinks it is worth may be much more than the norm...with certain items, value is based on how bad you want something, and not the standard for what people have paid.
not saying anything is wrong with what you are doing, but dont get so upset because someone disagreed with you.

If you feel compelled to send the OP a PM, saying something nasty, it's your fault, and not his.
Discussing the merits of pricing on /trade is fair, but being dirty and personal is not.

What a waste of my first post. *sigh* It's what I get for lurking...
Update: This thread has been sold! I decided to let it go for 2 Small Stones and a Ring of Feathers.

Do not drink the awesome-sauce......One must BE the awesome-sauce.
It sounds like a warning to new players to me. I fail to understand what is threatening about "/tr Hey, new players - Ioun Stones are some of the most sought after items in the game. Don't let someone scam you out of your loot without checing on the DDO forums to see what kind of outrageous prices you can get for it!" or something similar.
Making a macro of that and sending it every time you see a known scammer (and there are some known scammers on Argo even if we can't name them in the forum) is about as far from harassment and threats as anything I can think of.
Would you also report public service announcements during fire safety week (October 9-15, 2011) for threatening and harrassment?
I am more disgusted with your taste buds than your negotiating buy/sell skills. To each his own I say, its your item, you can price it.
Simple economics 101 of supply and demand. If someone finds that price reasonable than they might buy it.
BTW people, I am on Thelanis and have the Ring of the Ancestors and will sell it for 198k and trump his selling price, but than again, I rather farm tapestries and get a minos legens. Thats just me though

+1, The idea is solid, but the text may is still an issue. Simply calling it a "scam" makes it an attack on the person that is trolling for stones. Also drop the new players bit since many long-time casual players can fall into the same trap. Then bump it into the advice channel so you're not cluttering up the trade channel.
"Advice: Ioun Stones are some of the most sought after items in the game. Don't part with your valuable loot without checking on the DDO forums to see what kind of outrageous prices you can get for it!"
It's now neutral in it's wording and still gets the message out.

i'd much rather see the trade channel cluttered than see the advice channel used in this manner.
yes it's advice, but it is more applicable to the trade channel imo.
i dunno, maybe you play on one of those servers where the advice channel is used for "lvl8 rogue looking for group"
i'm not lorien (obviously) but,
the bolded and italicized area is a definite put down telling the "new person" they don't know what they're talking
about and therefore should cut off their trade channel interaction.
