IIRC the boost to damage vs. evil enemies effects base damage & will be increased on crits? that could well make it better for sustained DPS than pure good... it'll also be nice for characters with non-good alignments that dont have UMD.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.
I always thought it was weird rightous weapons didnt deal good damage .
people should look at the vendors if they are really struggling for a dr breaker.
It's easy: you have the weapon damage type (such as bludgeoning) and then attributes (such as good, frost, lawful) all of which can have an effect on DR.
This is not actual damage dealt just the type.
So a righteous rapier does damage: 1d6+X piercing, good (which i might add is the formula for rashkasha's)
Short answer: yes.
AH prices have already soared.
I saw a +1 metalline light mace of righteousness priced at around 500k, when checking alts over Sarlona.

Longer answer: Righteousness has always added +2 to the base weapon, which has always made it a nice damage mod. Unless you need /Good, it's generally going to be better than Of Pure Good, since its damage boosts crits (2 per hit vs 3.5 per hit, and it also increases hit rate...a particularly useful trait for melee dabblers and low level characters). Now that's not even true anymore, and Righteousness can be freely used by neutral characters. This is not actual damage dealt just the type.
