If they kept the chance the same, but let new stacks refresh the countdown, it could be quite good. Then you're not guaranteed to get a full stack, you still have to get a bit lucky with procs, but once you hit a full stack, you'd get a good use out of it.

New stacks do refresh the cooldown.

If this goes live it means the best way to do damage with a blue bar is to be a FVS?

(As far as I know, nothing in the game has any resistance to light damage, so this whole thread just scares me, can imagine in 6 weeks there be nothing but fvs everywhere with not another class to be seen again)

eh, no, not really. this means that FvS at least finally have a viable option for single-target DPS. but for nuking overall, i'd still go with sorcerer.

How heavily specced for it were you?

Is that Max-Empped, Sup Pot 5+, 40% Light damage enhancement and 30% from the PrE?

My planned battleclerics DPS just went up a tonne!!!

I was talking about the Vulnerability guard too.

From my testing, the Shield is getting refreshed when it stacks, but I only got it to stack once.

oh really? I read someone else said it wasn't refreshing. They must've just really borked the proc rate =/ I blame the pre-lama crying.

Arcanes can still do more damage from a blue bar.

Consider a mob with 30 cold resist and no light resist. A FvS can triple-DoT it with this spell, whereas a Cold Savant can triple-DoT it with their new DoT and also hit it with Melf's Acid Arrow and Polar Ray spam.

With the on-hit debuff, I went to Shav and let one of the Tieflings hit me 100 times. During that time, the debuff him hit him 12 times (and I saw 2 stacks of 5 in that).

It sounds like more then one FvS with this PrE is the method to getting a raid boss fullly debuffed with it. Can't say I'm too dispointed with this news as the PrE is very strong.

That was me saying it wasn't refreshing...I didn't have a whole lot of time to test it, only saw it stack once, and could have sworn it did not refresh. Did some more testing just now, and it does indeed refresh with each new application...sorry for the confusion

Only downside to this spell that i have found... material component. Guess i need to stock up on a bunch of tier5 components.
