    Default The Legendary Swim Wizard

For some reason, many people think that swim clerics should be the norm for all of the swim focused toons.
I strongly disagree! Swim clerics do stuff like heal that distracts them from swimming! things like daily prayer and worship, as well as keeping prayer books dry also impede their ability to practice swimming. Also, wizards get the all powerful merfolk's blessing spell. SO, i built a true swim focused character... feast your eyes!

this is how the pros roll

    Level 19 (Wizard)

    Level 20 (Wizard)
you have to use throwing hammers as your main weapon, some people say that you should go with q staffs, but you cant throw those while jumping up and down in the water. if you have enough money for thsoe expensive swim +15 items, then go for it, but anything from 4-10 will do with this awesome build.

Int is useless for swimming, dont get much, you need all the str points you can get for that prescious, prescious swim. Get Cha so that aspiring swimmers can admire you, remember, part of being an athlete is looking good. Of course you also need a workable amount of base wisdom so you can plan out swimming practices, and which of teh many player swim meets to attend.

the strategy of use is to hop in the water that is apparent in many quests, like vault of night 5, and intimidate all the mobs to you, while throwing your awesome hammers at them (some people prefer shruikan, i disagree). Thats why you need all the ranks in jump. Start off quests naked, cast merfolks, then don all the strength gear you can find, as well as your swim item.

You will also be invaluable for water puzzles, swim lessons, and swimming boss fights.

some people say you should splash 2 rog, IMO this isnt worth the prescious 12 seconds you lose on merfolk's blessing

Almost, I would recommend going 18 wiz/2 rog so you will be able to max out swim.

Bard 2, just as with the Swim Cleric, gains the class skill + Focusing Chant (+1 to skills). It is a much superior dip to rogue 2, as any swim-focused build knows.
Ghallanda - now with fewer alts and more ghostbane

Why did you leave skills at .5? D&D rules state that all fractions round down, no matter how high the fraction is. Did DDO ignore this rule and give you a whole skill point for .5? I didn't think they did...

because every fraction of a swim counts! you never know if you might pull a .5 swim item !

same reason people choose drow instead of human

You forgot required gear: Tier 3 Buccanneer's ring (all levels).

Quick, there's still time to craft it today.

    You didn't max Swim.

    Thus, Swim-Cleric still wins.

Swim ranger is where it's at. Max merfolk's blessing, AND swim as a class skill.

Not to mention, extremely useful spells such as Mass Camouflage and Spike Growth.
