    Default What buffer?

No Junts there is no threat buffer atm. Ran a VoD on Lama, on my intimmitank w/ 84 intimidate grabbed aggro, beat Suulo down for a good 2 minutes while intimidating, all the while 11 people get to watch and did nothing. After 2 mins or so I called in 1 monk, he hit suulo twice and had aggro (before the snide remarks start no my tank isn't gimped). Intimidate is broken for now, hopefully this monday morning downtime will fix it.

Old Intimidate was a by-pass check of the agro list use... Getting on top of the list does not mean you grab agro immediately... is another part of it all - a spiking threat which must occur to switch the order of hate. The list itself changes constantly even while the agro is currently on one person and being on the top of the list does not mean you grab the agro immediately...

Eladrin outlined that in Junts questioning on testing hate and threat questions... wish I could find the post. The thing here is had you gotten initial agro... I think intimidate would allow you to basically keep it even though the dps on the mob far lower than dps of ithers in the group.

    Lammania isn't a test server. It's a preview server.

Things are rarely changed before they go from 'preview' to 'live'

Pretty glad I LR'd my Stalwart Defender Dwarf into Kensai.

Maybe I will finish gearing him when all this is fixed.

It's really a shame Turbine has no QA team. Either that or they just pike the update completion!

So yes, you can fill out a bug report.

As to the person who asked if it was admission. Hardly, Cor isn't QA. However, if you think something isn't working correctly, bug report it. If you never report it, there is zero chance it will ever get fixed. If you do report it, then there is a chance.

    Slim is better than nothing.
Bug report everything you feel is an issue on Lamannia. I have the bug report link in my sig, and make a point to tell you in my welcome post for each update that I will be making sure each bug is read and processed. Simply go to the bug reporting link in-game (in the 'Help' screen), or from the forums ('Submit a Bug' in the menu bar under the 'Community' masthead), and select the server 'Lamannia' when submitting.

By asking you to report something as a bug, it does not mean we are confirming for you that it is a bug. But the bugs reported will be processed, researched, and put into the bug queues if they prove to be issues that are not working as intended.

If you mention something in a forum post, that will have less of a chance of getting into the bug queues. It takes us much longer to read every Lamannia forum post made each day and try and understand whether the post is trying to report a bug or stating an opinion of a change we made. Since I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, don't let me make that decision for you. Submitting a bug in addition to your post will make sure your issue is reported and processed.

Submitting bugs is your best bet to making sure that an issue you have concerns about will get processed and fixed before release.

Cool, will keep it in mind.

Does that mean there is more chance of bug fixes this time around, before U9 hits live?

So submit bug reports with personal opinions of what I want changed.

    Got it

Seriously tho - Many players already do exactly that. It's not different then the forums.

Personally I don't get the whole "bug reports" are easier talk. They are more inaccurate then forum reports imo. The forum has the benefit of trasparency tho, so the players can respond and shoot down people trying to report things that simply are known to not be bugs.

I know for a fact several dozen players reported bugs on supreme cleave for example. Then about 3 months later I send a tell to Madfloyd about it, and he informs me that the database has no such bug.

    The system doesn't work.

Extremely well respected developers like Valve use forums for bug reporting. For a good reason. Antiquated systems you guys use simply do not work, thats been proven time and time again. Move forward turbine.

He went and TESTED it. He found out that a character that he built and played is now rendered ineffectual. As I did.

His calmly stated OP is in no way an over reaction: it is a statement of discovery.

And I feel pretty disappointed. Yes, I will be shelving my intims.

So is intim working as intended or not? If this is "intended" then there is no point in even training it.

This is scary, I was about to TR into a character who was supposed to be turtling with intimidate to hold aggro, I'm really hoping this will still be a viable character concept after U9 (it's not like it's overpowered, given the sacrifices required to make such a build work)... I'll definitely wait now though till this is fully tested and confirmed as WAI...

The thing is . . . if all this does is add a hate modifier . . . and your build can currently hold aggro now . . . then what is the point of training this at all?

My fighter is a stalwart hate tank (Link in my sig) who's intim tops at about 60 (could get more if I geared up, but now why bother). But between Epic Claw bonus, Stalwart set, and the hate gen from Stalwart II stance he right now can hold aggro over a 90 STR maxxed-barbarian using a Devil's Ruin ESoS.

Intim was great as it was, it was wonderful for stuff like controlling the orthons in VoD but now that's completely useless.

That fact that it needs to be a success to add hate sucks. If it added a flat percentage of hate generation based on your intim number (say an intim of 45 added 45% more hate) this might be remotely useful but as it's currently implemented in U9 it's worthless.

I guess its fine because my fighter could use the skill points somewhere else.

    As i understand it:

Barbarian has 1000 dmg under his belt, the stalwart has 850 threat damage under his belt, the stalwart has a 60 intimidate, and hits the target giving him 1000 + a bonus according to his intimidate skill (Unkown bonus) AND then also generates an extra 50% threat for the next 6 seconds so he can keep the lead.

But a well-equipped TWFing Stalwart can easily generate enough hate to hold aggro right now without intim adding hate. Even before mine was equipped with just the stance bonus he could hold aggro over almost anything with a 1 haste-boost head start. This adds NOTHING of value to the game.

LOL - and some dev will make a post 6 months from now being totally clueless as to the issue.
