    I like it.

What kind of shield were you using?
How much damage was the bash attack doing when it triggered?
What other feats do you have? Does Power Attack affect the damage?
If you change shields (from light, to heavy to tower, from +1 to +5, etc...) does the bash damage change?
Did you test it against monsters with DR? Did it bypass their DR?

20% is the top damage mitigation (we now have three types of damage mitigation, AC, DR and this unnamed percentage based mitigation, not counting miss chances like blur/displace/ethereal)...

20 damage is lowered by 4

    30 is lowered by 6

    40 is lowered by 8

    50 by 10

If they put this mitigation on metal armor it might make up for the fact that Monk splashes in Pajamas can obtain higher AC easier and with better DPS than a armored AC tank.

Still it requires a feat, as does the bashing thing.

So instead of taking THF feats (for Dwarven Axe glancing blows, and as a THF DPS mode for the 90% of the time you're not using S&B) or feats like PA or Stunning blow, you're taking these S&B feats...

On a build that is sacrificing almost every gear slot for AC gear...

On a build that devotes almost every AP to a defensive PrE and getting AC (armor mastery) and intim (+ Charisma for Pali's)

On a build that requires some of the worst grinding in the game to gear out (Titan, TOD Hound, SOS for Sovereign Rune of Leviks for example)....

Now I also need to take at least two S&B feats.... lol...

Oh and they've made Intim a single target hate tanking skill where DPS will be required to hold the intim...

This seems a lot like Lucy yanking the football away from Charlie Brown IMO... Or two steps forward three steps back.

Well, my Paladin over on Lamannia just swapped in Improved Shield Bash, and still has all the THF feats, Power Attack, IC: Slashing, Toughness, Bastard Sword Prof., and a Lesser Dragonmark.

Granted, she's a Human with 1 level of Fighter. But a pure fighter will have many more feats than that. Pure paladins will have to pick and choose a bit, but I see nothing wrong with having to make those kind of choices.
