For some reason, many people think that swim clerics should be the norm for all of the swim focused toons.
I strongly disagree! Swim clerics do stuff like heal that distracts them from swimming! things like daily prayer and worship, as well as keeping prayer books dry also impede their ability to practice swimming. Also, wizards get the all powerful merfolk's blessing spell. SO, i built a true swim focused character... feast your eyes!
this is how the pros roll
you have to use throwing hammers as your main weapon, some people say that you should go with q staffs, but you cant throw those while jumping up and down in the water. if you have enough money for thsoe expensive swim +15 items, then go for it, but anything from 4-10 will do with this awesome build.Code:Character Plan by DDO Character Planner Version 3.8.0 DDO Character Planner Home Page suifang night Level 20 Lawful Neutral Elf Male (20 Wizard) Hit Points: 90 Spell Points: 1408 BAB: 10\10\15\20 Fortitude: 5 Reflex: 7 Will: 14 Starting Feat/Enhancement Abilities Base Stats Modified Stats (36 Point) (Level 1) (Level 20) Strength 18 29 Dexterity 10 12 Constitution 6 8 Intelligence 12 14 Wisdom 8 14 Charisma 18 24 Tomes Used +4 Tome of Strength used at level 1 +4 Tome of Wisdom used at level 1 +4 Tome of Charisma used at level 1 Starting Feat/Enhancement Base Skills Modified Skills Skills (Level 1) (Level 20) Balance 0 5 Bluff 6 9 Concentration -2 1 Diplomacy 6 9 Disable Device n/a n/a Haggle 6 9 Heal 1 4 Hide 0 3 Intimidate 8 20.5 Jump 8 22.5 Listen 1 6 Move Silently 0 3 Open Lock n/a n/a Perform n/a n/a Repair 1 4 Search 1 6 Spot 1 6 Swim 8 27.5 Tumble n/a n/a Use Magic Device n/a n/a Level 1 (Wizard) Feat: (Selected) Athletic Feat: (Wizard Bonus) Mental Toughness Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Barbarian Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Bard Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Cleric Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Cleric Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Cleric Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Favored Soul Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Fighter Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Fighter Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Fighter Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Monk Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Monk Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Monk Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Paladin Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Ranger Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Rogue Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Rogue Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Rogue Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Sorcerer Feat: (Past Life) Past Life: Wizard Level 2 (Wizard) Level 3 (Wizard) Feat: (Selected) Skill Focus: Swim Level 4 (Wizard) Level 5 (Wizard) Feat: (Wizard Bonus) Extend Spell Level 6 (Wizard) Feat: (Selected) Brutal Throw Level 7 (Wizard) Level 8 (Wizard) Level 9 (Wizard) Feat: (Selected) Diehard Level 10 (Wizard) Feat: (Wizard Bonus) Eschew Materials Level 11 (Wizard) Level 12 (Wizard) Feat: (Selected) Completionist Level 13 (Wizard) Level 14 (Wizard) Level 15 (Wizard) Feat: (Selected) Quick Draw Feat: (Wizard Bonus) Quicken Spell Level 16 (Wizard) Level 17 (Wizard) Level 18 (Wizard) Feat: (Selected) Martial Weapon Proficiency: Throwing Hammer Level 19 (Wizard) Level 20 (Wizard)
Int is useless for swimming, dont get much, you need all the str points you can get for that prescious, prescious swim. Get Cha so that aspiring swimmers can admire you, remember, part of being an athlete is looking good. Of course you also need a workable amount of base wisdom so you can plan out swimming practices, and which of teh many player swim meets to attend.
the strategy of use is to hop in the water that is apparent in many quests, like vault of night 5, and intimidate all the mobs to you, while throwing your awesome hammers at them (some people prefer shruikan, i disagree). Thats why you need all the ranks in jump. Start off quests naked, cast merfolks, then don all the strength gear you can find, as well as your swim item.
You will also be invaluable for water puzzles, swim lessons, and swimming boss fights.
some people say you should splash 2 rog, IMO this isnt worth the prescious 12 seconds you lose on merfolk's blessing
