As a clonk that doesn't have that much SP (1343 sp un-ship-buffed w/ SP gear) I really don't like the heal change. Ya, its only 5 sp, but if i'm trying to heal Suulo in ToD, that potentially makes me use a pot. Never really used BBs, mainly because I don't have Max. or Emp., but the one reason I used it at all was extending it. I didn't do much damage a tic, but 1 min+ BBs were usefull.
Grrrr.....
My Builds: Tempest Kensai of Zen
Quicken will still be handy for Mass Heal as well as ensuring that you never fail a concentration check. I won't be dropping quicken on my FvS.
With my Cleric, I've experienced runs out to HoX and VoD where the only healing I had to do was let my aura stay up. Most quests are the same way, where the aura and occasional burst is more than enough with a decent group. Heck on normal even my static group can mostly handle things with just my aura. And I'm one of two people who raid, and only three who view healing amp as a necessity, out of six.Originally Posted by Thorzian
My FvS would have to cast MCLW occasionally, and it would land with less efficiency as my Cleric's Empower Healing is 75%, rather than 50%, and costs 6sp vs 10. I can leave Max off most of the time with my Cleric as well, since she's a offensive caster and not a melee, and thus can slot a sup pot item in one hand constantly.
Raid healing and boss fight healing are the same, basically. Enough damage is being done that the aura can't begin to keep up, and burst has too long a cool down. So I use the same Mass cures on both, heal scrolls for spot healing, and sup pot in the offhand. My Cleric tends to overheal quite a bit more, which hurts more due to having 200sp less, even at 2 levels higher. But she also keeps the aura up for anyone who backs out into it, or just wants to stand there near me (arcanes, AA's, mechanics).
I'm not certain yet if I'll drop extend on my FvS. Cleric, definitely. I never use anything short-term other than Holy aura, and I use it in large groups in order to blind the critters more than the buff itself. Maybe a spell focus or a spell pen feat? Heck, Falchion prof with an enhancement respec would probably bring more use to me at this point than Extend. Another toughness would help mitigate being an elf, though I am at 390hp, with no raid gear and level 19.

I was already tossing around the idea of dropping extend on my fvs end game 25 s is good enough. its lvl 13 that is the issue for BB and I will miss the extend on Holy Aura. to cure spells I on have the capstone unyeilding close wounds heal ccwm ad healm and I can solo heal raids just fine. I rather not because I am lazy but I can. w/3k sp its just fine so my mass heal only hits for 400/1100 not as great as a cleric but when you cast at half damge on you partys low HP toon which I think most do that is still more than enough even on a non crit. just because a cleric can always over heal doesnt make them better. they have more spells and can change them when they want for no cost that is their benefit.
Meh i haven't used extend on my healers in years...Clerics are more based towards healing atm as evident by their prestige while fvs are getting a prestige more geared towards an offensive casting or mellee healer.Once they finish all the prestige classes im sure there will be more choices.
As far as clerics not being able to offensive cast if the change to extend is that drastic for your offensive caster i got news for ya its not just extend you should change.Like i said i havent had extend on my main ever, including when he was a cleric..never noticed myself struggling to maintain killcount and heal..
Either your healer has what it takes to offensively cast or they dont.. nothing to do with extend...
I hear they are working on new Divine spells as well as some arcane ones... I just hope they dont come too late...

There is a simple solution:
1. Smiting Line working with untyped, fire spells (both for Clerics and Fvs)
2. New divine Aoe DoT spell for example:
Storm of Vengeance Conjuration (Summoning)
Level: Drd 9, Clr 9, Nobility 9, Weather 9
Components: V, S
Casting time: 1 round
Range: Long (400 ft. + 40 ft./level)
Effect: 360-ft.-radius storm cloud
Duration: Concentration (maximum 10 rounds) (D)
Saving Throw: See text
Spell Resistance: Yes
This spell creates an enormous black storm cloud. Lightning and crashing claps of thunder appear within the storm. Each creature beneath the cloud must succeed on a Fortitude save or be deafened for 1d4x10 minutes.
If you do not maintain concentration on the spell after casting it, the spell ends. If you continue to concentrate, the spell generates additional effects in each following round, as noted below. Each effect occurs during your turn.
2nd Round: Acid rains down in the area, dealing 1d6 points of acid damage (no save).
3rd Round: You call six bolts of lightning down from the cloud. You decide where the bolts strike. No two bolts may be directed at the same target. Each bolt deals 10d6 points of electricity damage. A creature struck can attempt a Reflex save for half damage.
4th Round: Hailstones rain down in the area, dealing 5d6 points of bludgeoning damage (no save).
5th through 10th Rounds: Violent rain and wind gusts reduce visibility. The rain obscures all sight, including darkvision, beyond 5 feet. A creature 5 feet away has concealment (attacks have a 20% miss chance). Creatures farther away have total concealment (50% miss chance, and the attacker cannot use sight to locate the target). Speed is reduced by three-quarters.
