Epic scrolls?

Anybody notice any changes to epic scrolls yet? I skimmed the release notes but didnt see anything. Or is this a change to look for with the rest of the crafting update?

I carried my big epic bag of useless scrolls with me over to Lama Land... Didn't notice any generic Scrolls, so I'm sure it's not a retroactive change. As for fresh drops, it'll be interesting to see. Remember, screen shot or it didn't happen. :P

If you don't trust me get your own tail end over to lamannia and farm for em. Personally we have no confirmation or a dev stating this is how it would work anyways. I wasn't there to test scroll drops so never took a screenie but like i said feel free to go do it yourself.

All I've seen about generic scrolls is a few forum users saying that they would be nice.

Has there been any dev posts on this subject or are people just going crazy for no reason?

... Really? I did say I was on Lama Land, just haven't had a chance to farm for them myself yet. Your right, we've no had no confirmation from a Dev, I believe the 'rumor' or whatever you'd like to call it was started by people who were told at PAX.

You didn't need to take my 'Screen Shot or it never happened' post so personally... It'd just be nice to see them, and was a reminder to anyone else who's going to go out and test the system. Though, from the looks of things generic scrolls haven't even been implemented in the Sands, which was said to be the testbed for it. Maybe, Generic Scrolls are not going to be released on the preview server, but added as a surprise on the live server. (You know, like those surprise parties your annoying little brother or sister would ruin for you when you were younger by telling you about them. :P)

generic scrolls will exist for new content, and the old pack will be left as is so they can measure the impact of the new system.

in the future they will look at similar mechanics for the seals and shards.

The concern is that there are no generic scrolls to be had on Lamannia now, which could leave us with the old, busted system of scroll drops.

IIRC it said something along the lines of 'existing scrolls won't be changed'.

That can be interpreted as EITHER - existing scrolls in your bank or existing scrolls in the loot table.

+1 The original quote was very ambiguous what would happen with current epics. In the last week there has been a massive sell off of desert raid scrolls on Cannith. It feels like the great WoP sell off of 2008 (or whenever the heck it was). It would be nice if this could be clarified...

a) Making "high-end" scroll worthless now or later doesn't really matter. If they are going to do it retroactively to existing epics, might as well come out and say it. All that changes is who's left holding high value scrolls that just became worthless.
b) Those who do farm scrolls could stop doing it until the mod

I guess we could make them standardized non item specific. That would prolly make it suck less.


Before going all crazy about this id like to see a design dev quote, preferable eladrin, stating that this is indeed the plan. As oppossed to the much more sensible and less system breaking suggestions like 3 to 1 trade ins, increased drop rates, or 10th or 20th completion lists.

Imo this is exactly why they don't like talking about possible ideas before they are set in stone.

I am thankful no changes as drastic as what has been suggested is being augmented.
I personally would prefer to see a trade-in barter system where characters trade in 5/10/15 scrolls for the specific scroll they are looking for.
In addition I would love to see another look see to see if many of the items can get small bumps to make them more useful.

I assume you guys have been reading the various threads about this idea and the counter proposals so I will leave it at that as my ideas have been stated a few times in this regard.
