Default Undocumented Changes - Update 9

I don't know if I missed these in the notes (they were quite long!) so I'll list a few things I saw on Lamma that I didn't see in the notes.

    - When you evade a spell or affect, you see "evade" above your head in the same gray text that you see "miss" on a missed attack.

    - New teleport locations: Stormreach Harbor (puts you by the gate to the Inspired Quarter), The Twelve (puts you in the Planescaller room), Crafting Area (immediately teleports you out if you try, due to it not being open yet).

    - Diplomacy and Bluff now provide feedback messages. I saw something like "Moderately Harmless" after a diplo and bluff. I didn't test Intimidate.

Please tell me it was Mostly Harmless. If yes +1 to you, Devs. If not it's over -9000.*

*Those who appreciate the Mostly Harmless will have noticed that -(over 9000) is actually even less than over -9000.

One observation that I didn't see in the notes:

The adventure compendium now has a search field at the top.

It's a neat idea, though it could be expanded. It seems to only search on quest name. It would be great if it would also search on patron name. I'd love to be able to type in coin and have it narrow to just the coin lord quests, or what have you. It'd make trying to find quests for specific patrons easier.

Edit: It seems to search on more than just quest name. It'll also search on the "Bestowed by:" and the "In:" fields from what shows when you hover over a quest. That's neat because you could say, pick up the three barrel cove pack, type three and see the three barrel cover quests. Certainly useful, though I'd still like it to search on patron as well.

Yes, it's "mostly harmless." It's an affect that applies to you. But I'm seeing some strange behavior with Bluff. I failed a bluff and, as expected, my next attacks were not sneak attacks. But after 3-4 non-sneak attacks, and WITHOUT bluffing again, I got a sneak attack. This was solo. Strange.

More testing is needed and probably a dedicated thread.

I apologize for not getting these included in the Release Notes. I've now added them. Thank you for spotting this.

    That's quick work!

I see the notes about Bluff but it's working a bit strangely. I'm getting the "mostly harmless" message on any Bluff, succeeded or failed. I also get the affect in my combat log ("You are affect by Dresek's Mostly Harmless." or something like that).

I'm only getting the free sneak attacks and icon over the mob's head on a successful Bluff but it lookes like I'm getting the threat reduction on any Bluff. WIA?

Not directly. You end up in the Harbor at the gate to the IQ. Still, it's way better than running from the Marketplace.

    Still no "Boat" location though

Sometimes during some animations of the monsters you get sneak attacks, even when soloing. I'm pretty sure I'v seen this before.

I didn't spend too much time in the preview, but noticed that the logout time outside of taverns has been reduced. Nice change!

combat expertise counts as a defensive stance and removes rage(spell)
CE does not remove madstone clicky
unable to get madstone effect normally with CE on from 50 or so hits, need more testing

also, BB is only 30 seconds, not certain if it was listed

It looks like Create Undead will now replace any monster you currently have summoned with the new summon - Pale Master pets are not affected as usual.

The description for the Deepwood Sniper PRE now claims that the sniper shot does not break you out of sneak mode. Although, in practice the sniper shot still seems to break you out of sneak mode, at least in my limited tests.

You can already sort by Patron; how would this be different? Do you mean search by quest and patron or something?

on the eternal wands, seems regen rate of charges is about ~56s/20c. seemes faster, and i swear the first charge regen ticked for 2 instead of one at least once,so i'm still toying with it to see if i can catch it again. only really worked through some sets on eternal finger of fire thus far.

great number of tooltips for spells still not updated.
    - circle of death descriptions still screwed up: "...creatures who success against the fortitude save..." , should be succeed, or restructure the whole sentence.
    - missing data on the new cooldown in the spells themselves.
    - tooltip for dimension door is not changing its cost when metamagics are toggled, and continuing to list a cast cost of 34 for me. example :
"spell point cost: 34 ( base: 25 )" with no metamagics on.
"spell point cost: 34 ( base: 25 )" with quicken on.
note- quicken is listed as only applicable meta for ddoor.
**note- actually on continued examination both in spellbook and hotbars, nearly all spells are listing a fixed cost higher then base cost with no metamagics turned on, although turning on applicable metamagics does increase listed cast cost appropriately for *most* spells. seems like this is a continuation of the spell string tables not being updated to reflect internal function changes. probably simple inconsistency, between the new base value and the old still being used in the actual cost portion of the strings.

mass hold lists sr check:yes now btw.

wizard enhancement respec only offered me the damage enhancements up to 40%. on force, show unavailable has tier 6( 45% or VI) just missing entirely. will have to wait a few days to take another closer look at this, as i was anxious to begin in situ testing, so simply took what i could get and moved on.

speaking of which it didn't prompt for a cost for the respec of enhancements.

I realize that you can sort by patron now, but that's a bit different than what I asked for (and not as handy). With the search box, as you type in it, the displayed list of quests shrinks and only those matching what you've typed show. You can then sort the displayed quests however you want. What I was saying before was that it would be nice if the search box would search on the patron name so you could show just quests for a particular patron. Once you do that, you could then sort the list by level, progress, or whatever else you felt like. Currently when you sort by patron the secondary sort is quest name regardless of what you had it sorted by before. Being able to see all the coin lords quests, for example, sorted by level or by progress could be quite handy.
