    Angry Downloading "DDO Splash Screen"

I always get stuck on the loading screen once i open the dnd launcher that say:

    Installing Pre-requisite software:
    Downloading " DDO Splash Screen"

it does that then it counts to 10 (ddo splash screen 1, ddo splash screen 2...10)
but most times i get stuck on first count FOREVER, i would go weeks like this trying and trying again!
I dont get to play anymore because of this problem....I really hate it!!
i tried uninstalss and re-installs, restart computer ....all nothing changed
What can be done about this?

and thats a screenshot of it....

please please help me...i wish to play... ;(

    What are your system specs?

Also, are you on wired or wireless internet?

Which anti-virus and firewall programs are you using?

My initial guess is that one of your security programs is blocking one of the four DDO applications from accessing the DDO servers.

I Googled your full notebook specs:
    http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/...5358Rsp2.shtml

I see that your system has integrated Intel graphics. DirectX 10 often acts odd with Intel graphics, so you might try switching over to DirectX 9. This thread shows how to enable DirectX 9 in DDO:
    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=287109

Another thing to try would be to plug your notebook's ethernet card into the LAN port your wireless router is plugged into, thereby connecting to the internet by a wired connection. (This can help to see if your wireless router might be the cause of the problem.)

At the moment, I can't tell if it's a graphics issue or a connection issue, but trying those two things might pinpoint the problem.

You mentioned that sometimes you can actually log in and play?

Firewalls blocking stuff is a very strong possibility. Wireless routers have built-in firewalls inside them that can really mess with things sometimes, which is why I want you to try bypassing the router and going fully wired to see if it helps.

You mentioned that you have Windows Firewall disabled, and that you use AVG. If I remember correctly, AVG Free does anti-virus only. Do you use a firewall program at all? Using no firewall at all can be pretty risky.

You might also want to do a scan for malware/spyware, to make sure you don't have little things running in the background that hog your internet bandwidth. Also, make sure that you don't run regular programs in the background while you're playing DDO. Another thing to check is if other people in your house are using your internet connection at the same time you're trying to play DDO, since that can also squeeze out your bandwidth.
