Pretty disgusting, the damage be be higher with full Telvi's Set, Major Ice Lore, and 3 piece abishai for level 28 polar rays.

    Will be fun.
Turbine nerfbat is imminent. That's too bad though, I was hoping on making a Sor and have a bunch of fun on him. =/

They never said the epic reboot was in this update. It's coming later.

Blah, blah, Savants, blah, blah, spell changes. Here's what we all really need to know:

    1. The Righteousness weapon enchantment now turns a weapon "Good" for damage reduction purposes.
    2. Siberys and Khyber Dragonshard fragments now stack to 10,000!
There was something about FvS in there, too. I honestly wasn't paying attention after those two bombshells, though.

(Combat): You hit Warlock Sobrien for 6,359 points of electric damage.

Not too bad at all, and this was only with the tier 3 Epic Ornamented Dagger. No Telvi's sash, no eardweller etc (OOPS!). Of course what people may not realize is that the elemental curse needs to be stacked five times for maximum damage. And it's a 20 second cooldown, so that's 100 seconds for the full curse. This isn't going to happen in many quests or raids.

And favored soul.. ZOMG, Divine Retribution is AWESOME! FANTASTIC! SPECTACULAR! Soloing DQ will be so much faster now

[quote]Considering all of the hype i was thinking this "update" was going to be more substantial.

Lots of good stuff but how does
The Epic Ring of the Buccaneer from Euphonia's Barter Box will now have Protection +5. An Epic Ring of the Buccaneer upgraded via the device to tier 2 will have its Dexterity +6 property removed when Dexterity +7 is added. Rings already bought or upgraded will not be changed, but any future rings from the device will work as described.
match the first item in "Current Known Issues (3-14-2011)" http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=150534 which says that
The Level 20 Ring of the Buccaneer description in Euphonia’s Barter Box incorrectly states that the ring grants +5 Protection.
    I know I'm a little confused.

Oops, just noticed this thread about the same subject: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=308688

It will be back within the next few months probably; if not, next year. Actually, the PAX interview mentioned the new system coming soon regarding the challenge quest system, and one of the examples was seeing how many crystals you could get from cove in like 3 minutes. So when they release challenge quests, I expect cove will return.

For some reason since I installed the Lam client, I get one of the EULAs to agree at every log in, on either Lam or live. Anyone else getting this?

    - you can change Bloodstone to Blood Stone, and update it's icon, but you can't correct this ring? You've already noted that you are correcting frost/burst errors on GS weaps, so the only excuse I can think of is that you just want to encourage MORE and MORE grinding in Crystal Cove. Oy, kobold still hate me. Please fix this and correct all manufactured rings so I can get back to real adventuring!

I may have to go change my pie chart
Yes, because among other things, those elemental weakness curses will work on weapon element effects.

Consider the overall damage boost to applying acid bonuses vs Harry/Sally for the melees using MinIIs.

Or the air savant bonus to Lightning Strikes from LitIIs.

Or the cold boost to all of those weapons with Risia bonuses applied.
Kobold sentient jewel still hate you.

I'll be midly surprised if anyone will be able to find Earth Savants in the near future. I see a lot of people excited about Air Savant because you still get both Fire and Cold spells just like you do now and you get both wings and big electrical damage.

I also figure that a lot of people are going to go with Fire Savant while leveling and then switch when they get to the Vale.

I don't forsee many people go Ice or Earth with the new changes based both on what the PrE offers and based on current quests that are avaiable.

I intend to at least give earth a try when it comes out. What is wrong with earth specifically? Is it just suboptimal (which is fine, I don't mind suboptimal)? My understanding was that there really isn't that much immune or even resistant to Acid, it has a bunch of good AOE DoT options, the T3 gives you an earthgrab special, more hitpoints and bonus balance score is actually a useful skill bonus unlike many of the others... It all sounds pretty good to me to be honest. It doesn't have the 'big boom' factor that the other three have, but I think it might actually be more survivable.

Harry has Acid resistance, not immunity. On Normal, MinII weapons do some acid damage to him. On Hard and Elite, the Acid damage on the weapons isn't enough to get past his resistance.

The Earth Savants will bypass some of that resistance and have enough raw damage to put up decent numbers even if the resistance isn't bypassed entirely. Harry also has Cold resistance, but Polar Rays and Frost Lances already do decent damage to him now. It's just enough to make Icy Burst kind of pointless on him.

Earth does have the biggest benefit that Air gives - no penalties to Fire or Cold spells. I just find the Earthgrab effect a lot less exciting with the general downgrade to the helpless state on enemies than the Leap of Awesomeness that the Air Savants will get. Add in the generally disappointing damage that Acid spells offer and I'm just unimpressed. I really haven't dug too deeply into the individual spell changes and broken out a calculator yet, so I may just be working with outdated prejudices.

That's yet to be seen... Most people want content and want Turbine to stop nerfing game mechanics and calling it content.

Haven't tried the new spells yet but they look to be severly underpowered and not extendable which really limits their effectiveness in my book. They also look to be single target spells, which really suck, who uses burning blood? Answer, no one. So why give us an electrical and ice version? We want electric cloud, storm could a real ice storm, etc. Firewall looks to be diminished as well. I may eat crow but I cannot see the benefits here... So no I don't call this content. Again, I will likely be eating crow as I did with comments on the Crystal Cove but hey, this is my first look.

    Question

ok another question here...=D....what about when the new update goes live and there is a problem with the buccaneer ring....ok so apparently you do not get the protection on it now...so I guess they are fixing this but you have to make a new ring to get it...ok no problem really...but when the new update goes live you will not be ABLE to make a new ring to get said protection...soooo is there going to be something done about that??
