You kill him with kindness of course. Hehe, so I have only done Ewiz once, and as I recall, when we got near him the melee all stayed away from his whole area and the caster went in and did it himself. I have no idea what spells he is suseptible to but I would guess fw and cometfall and disintegrate, etc, etc, etc. I do recall it took several minutes.
Ginchy: Professional Loot Sacrifice. Available for Hire.
any class can solo epic wiz king boss. use a hireling with summon earth ele spell. place hireling outside where the black barrier drops before ya engage the wizking. Thats a good starting point for ya...
btw.. the barrier will lower and raise when the wizking goes through. there is a small window.
Drag him to traps and then get back and go make a sandwich. It takes awhile for him to patrol to death, like 10min.
Yes, trap method. Keep yourself invisible the entire time.
Approach him in his chamber, get him to follow you without seeing you and the barrier should not go up. Otherwise, use the pet method as mentioned above. Then drag him to one of the traps and lead him through, repeatedly, for 10-15 minutes. If wraiths spawn, DDoor back and start again.
It must take a lot of time and resource to Solo Wiz King ?
Given that you are probably after Epic scrolls Etc you need to kill as much as possible to get the goodies. So bypassing a load of mobs doesn't make sense.
You also get multiple chances to get scrolls etc if you have a full party.
So i can't see any advantage on soloing Epic Wizzy at all, apart from cudos.
Surely the only way to succesfully run Epic Wizzy is with a well geared party of six who have agreed to split the loot beforehand on a need not greed/random basis.
If you do this a great party can tear up Epic Wizzy in forty minutes. Do this every day for a month and you will have pretty much all the scrolls and seals you need.
Time? Maybe.
Resources? Not at all.
There are 4 shrines in there - it is usually pretty easy to clear the entire place by using three of them, leaving the 4th for the final fight.
Edit: With the update to the spell passover...this may change; at least how I do it.![]()

I've done eWizKing in groups of 2 to 6. It's fairly easy if everyone is prepared no matter what size the group is. With more players, it's faster as you can split up and do multiple towers simultaneously. We generally kill the same number of mobs no matter what size the party is.
Resource usage is minimal as there are four shrines and you can scroll cast Halt Undead (just won't last as long) to hold the unintelligent skeletons. The change to Wall of Fire may change things around, but also remember that mob HP will be reduced as well. With 2 players, we might use all four shrines, we might not. With 6, no more than 2 shrines get used by everyone.
Kiting Raiyum through traps is a long, slow, boring process; but it's safe. Beating him down is a lot more fun, but can easily cause a wipe if people can't handle his spammed disintegrates, can't cure their curses fast enough, or the kiter gets clipped at the wrong time by a Hex Wraith.
While one person runs him through the traps (and it can be anyone, not just a caster), everyone else can go scroll farm the basement respawns or some of the broken floors.
Thanks for the tips everyone!
Yeah, I realise it would be WAY easier in a group, but honestly, hardly anyone ever wants to run Desert epics anymore. I might see OOB run once a week on the LFM's (and I watch them closely), the only times anyone has run EWizKing is usually when a caster solos 99% of the dungeon and offers people to come in for completion/final fight, but it's rare.
Sadly, everyone just wants to run Snitch/Big Top/Partycrashers/Last Stand/Bargain of Blood, and maybe a few other Fens and Carnival Epics.
During the Epic reboot, I do hope they decide to look at the some of the longer Epics and maybe make some adjustments to drops, tokens per time invested, or something, I have always loved the Wiz King dungeon, easily one of my favorites.
And honestly, I kill 200+ mobs in Wiz King almost daily, have plenty of scrolls/seals, I'm mostly looking for shards now, well, specifically Spirt Specs shard heh.
