Best known for her performances in Cleopatra, Butterfield 8 and Who's afraid of Viginia Woolf? She was a legend in the business... She was also very outspoken recently on finding a cure for Aids and working for the improvement of AIDS research.

In addition she has also been the target of the Media from time to time most notably for her 9 marriages and for her long time friendship
With Michael Jackson, ever the picture of Grace however,
she never let this fluster her and stuck by him till the end

Of late she had been very candid on her failing health, and stated frankly
"My body is a mess." to one Media interviewer. But she never let up on her
Humanitarian work for which she was also awarded an Oscar.

    As Per MSN.com:

    Sorry to hear it.

    Great actress.
Maybe more importantly, she was a pioneer in bringing awareness of AIDS to the world in the disease's early days.

    She will be missed.

Definitely a screen legend. One of the first famous AIDS activists. She has raised many many millions of dollars for the cause.

She was active in Hollywood from 1942 to 2001. A 58 YEAR career.

Very hard to beat that resume.

PS: Her first movie was one called "There's One Born Every Minute" by Gloria Twine. They say art may imitate life. But not Liz Taylor's life.
