    Default DDO client stopped working?

hey guys. I'm trying to see if anyone knows whats going on here. I'm playing on a high end system, and after playing for a while the game freezes and then I get get an error that the ddo client stopped working. I have uninstalled the game several times and reinstalled it but the problem still returns. I have also noticed that when I first load the game, at the character select screen, when i go to select any highlightable button including choosing a character, the screen goes to black for a second then comes back on. any help would be appreciated.

screen going black for a second is usually a symptom of a DirectDraw problem. Had a similar issue with a Gateway I owned playing FIFA world Cup. It was resolved eventually by un-re/installing DirectX. Have a dxdiag logfile ready and saved for when tech support gets back to you. I'm betting they'll ask for that. Also, you'll want to make sure you have all the latest video drivers. In the mean time, are you running the game in DirectX 10 or 9? Try switching to 9 if you're in 10.
Of course I could be barking up the wrong tree, wait for a reply from a turbine person before going crazy with the un-re/installs
