Ranger Deepwood Sniper II: Passive Benefit: an additional +2 bonus to Bluff, Hide, Move Silently. Active Benefit: Sniper shot is a devastating melee attack that can kill a living target instantly on a successful ranged attack made from stealth. The target gets a Fortitude save (DC 10 + Ranger Level + Wis Modifier) to avoid death and deals 10d6 damage if the target makes its save.

We may be too far out for devs to commit to anything.
My speculations (based on PnP - http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Deepwood_Sniper):
- Bow Weapon Specialization Enhancement you can pick up after taking DWS II.
- Ranged Weapon Mastery. Adds to ranged damage.
- Keen property on all bows (would save a feat).
- True Strike (similar to AA; +20 to hit on a clickie).
- Bonuses to hide (bleh).
- Greater Critical - The critical damage multipliers of all her projectile weapons increases by +1 (almost can guarantee we will see this).
Will be interesteing to see how it is balanced against AA.

That page on D&D wiki is a homebrew 3.5 upgrade for the deepwood sniper, which as far as I know was only ever officially in the 3.0 edition masters of the wild. That version appears to have added a few extras, such as sneak attack damage on their take aim ability.
But really, all they need to do is just continue deepwood sniper a bit further and I think it would be fine. If rank II reduced the cooldown on the sniper shot and rank III gave an additional +1 threat range and multiplier, it would be fine by me.
My guesses for Deepwood Sniper II:
* A bonus chance to stay stealthed while using ranged weapons
* A ranged "sniper" stance with bonuses to crit range and multiplier and reduced ranged hate in exchange for reduced movement speed.
Reduced hate would hopefully allow them to not pull aggro from melees.
* Ranged tactics: e.g. pin (paralysis), trip or sap
This could give ranged rangers some fighter-like CC abilities
(or)
Ranged assassination ability (a la assassin II)
Here is the DWS change being made for U9:
Ranger Deepwood Sniper I now extends a player's point blank shot and sneak attack range by 10 meters, bringing the range to a base of 25 meters.
Seems the devs are preping DWS for its update in U10.
Perhaps they extend the range further with each tier of DWS?

I don't think it would be overpowering to remove the clicky altogether then make DWS 1 give you +1 crit range and DWS 2 +1 crit damage.
