    Default Question re: Epic Overhaul

    I have read a bit lately that indicates there are now going to be "generic" epic components that can drop in a given adventure pack.

    I am wondering:

    1.) will all the components drop generic versions (i.e., epic generic shard, seal, or scroll, or only scrolls)

    2.) will these generic drops be in addition to or in place of named epic compoents (i.e., generic scroll/seal/shard [s/s/s] can drop AND named s/s/s can drop, or only generic mats will drop);

    3.) in the event that the specific named s/s/s are no longer dropping, will one be able to combine a generic s/s/s with a preexisting named s/s/s to craft an epic item (i.e., can i take a previously obtained scroll of the x, a generic seal, and a generic shard and craft an epic x, etc).

    Thanks for any insight. I know the official notes aren't out but was wondering if this issue had any visibility.

    1. Only scrolls, at least at first.
    2. Presumably in place of; if specific scrolls still dropped, they'd be worth far, far less than the generic ones.
    3. Generic scrolls will not, at least initially, be added to existing Epic quests.

    I think I saw the info on ddowiki. That said I remember it said they will test it with scrolls and depending on that test may go to seals. It said the scrolls would be specific to an adventure pack area and not an item. It would not be retroactive to existing scrolls. So you might pull a 'desert scroll' usable to upgrade any item from demon sands.

    Are you sure that's what he meant? I thought he meant, we will not revert existing scrolls to generic ones.

    This will make all content, mass invis and ran through to the bosses.

    Drop rates should increase for scrolls, not take them out of the equation.

    The sands is a whole different animal with the number of epic items, but I would cut down the build-able epic list to the best 15 items and put the rest as drops ala the red dragon helm in the end chests of the selected quests.

    I would like to see a chance for theepic versions to be able to drop out of the epic chests, although I would want it to be exceptionally rare. I'd also suggest they make three versions of scrolls, weapons armor and accessories. I think it would help still keep epic items from being common but still be an improvement over the current system of drops.

    My main question was whether the impending system was likely to ruin my collection of 2/3 crafted epic sands items. Sounds like it will initially be prospective, applying to new areas only, so my fears have been allayed.

    Thanks to all who took time to reply.

    I agree. Theres not really 15 GREAT epic items out of sands but yeah top 15 would be nice rest possible end rewards, chest drops etc.
