I'm sure that this HAS to have been discussed before...
Why have we never gotten the ability to deposit plat into our shared banks?

For that matter, why don't the banks store plat? I would like to put away a few plat for a rainy day. Isn't that what banks generally operate with, money? The items are just for bank vaults and safety deposit boxes.
Because it's never been necessary? The plat cap is there to make you buy stuff, not to make you annoyed. If you really need to scoot some plat around, use the mail. It's like, 1 copper per letter when all you've got attached is money.
The devs have said its a technical limitation.
The way I understand it is, the shared bank stores items only, and currency in DDO is not stored as an item in your inventory. Therefore, there is no way to move the money from your inventory to the shared bank (or regular bank, for that matter).
The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.

it would be an easy thing to accomplish.
put money in the back as it is in our invo, in a little section in the bottom.
we click the DESPOSIT button
or WITHDRAW button
type the amount in.
click OKAY
done.
I've never True Reincarnated before so I don't know what happens to gold and plat when you TR. Is money one of the only things that you hold onto from the past life? I know all your gear goes into a special bank account that is one way (withdraw only).
Not to change the subject. I still think banks should store money, too.

I'd even settle for gems (up to a million plat in value maye?) that we could buy from vendors that could be traded/mailed/banked and then sold back to the vendor for a small fee.
*That is if it proves too difficult to open up being able to move large sums of plat around on your account.

If there is a reason the bank can only handle items and not coins that cannot be resolve without a major revamp of the banking system why not introduce items such as bank notes or gold bars that could be stackable "items" one could trade plat for with an NPC at the bank then simply drop the stack in thier shared bank?
Want to move 1 million plat to an alt? Go to the Exchange and buy 100 10,000pp bank notes and pop them in your shared bank or mail them to your alt.

Make transferring plat on the same account easier.
When you TR you keep your plat.....just not tomes and favor.
As for the four digits in the mail...im not sure the exact reason but this has always been this way.
As for how to transfer large amounts...as one stated 2 accounts will do it....but way easier is have a friend hold it why you swap toons. If you dont have anyone you can trust in game with 4million plat.......im sorry for you.....because most players do not have this problem...i have friends in game who will hold much more valuable items for me....i value the friends i have made in game more than any bits and pixels.
Or we could use Dowsing Rods as currency!
Sorry - had to.
As far is it not being possible, my Guild has a bunch of Astral Diamonds AND Plat "on account" at the Airship showroom waiting for us to level up to 55 and upgrade our ship.
If it can be done for that, why can't it be done for the regular or shared bank?
Personally, having already maxed out my Shared Bank space, I would spend the Turbine points to upgrade to 80 and then 100 if that came with the ability to store Plat too!
Mailing 9999 plat x 10 - 20 everytime my Haggle Bard sells loots back to my 'main' who does AH'ing is a PITA!
Turbine - you hear that? Charge me for it, and I will pay!!!

The best part of this suggestion (other than being a solution to the large money transfer problem): it's in the Eberron lore! That's right. House K does have bank notes. Paper money exists in Eberron, and is often used in large transactions, usually between dragonmarked houses and/or nations.
