    Smile A RIFT Moment

As I wrote recently, I'm spending time playing RIFT. Well, I had something happen last night in game that I thought was worth sharing.

    *RIFT SPOILER ALERT*

So, I was in Gloamwood tracking down the Hag who is behind all the werewolves. My wife and I are about to put her down when she turns us both into werewolves and throws us out of her house. I am now changing into a werewolf at the worst of moments. As a werewolf, the friendly npc's turn unfriendly and try to plant me in the ground. Tonight, I have to find the person that can lift the curse.

Hope all is well in the land of DDO. Having a blast in RIFT.

    Cheers,

    E.

glad you are having fun, but i tried it in beta, and even though it was humungously well polished, it was boring.

i did a quest, came back, and same guy gave me the next quest, I immediately go out and get that quest, come back and the guy next to him gives me a quest. I do that quest, and come back and get another quest immediately.

fast forward 2 hours (I think) and realize it was more along the lines of 5 hours of soloing.

I was on a vent channel with other people, who were just mumbling stuff to each other and that was the limitation of my interaction with other players.

I can understand your experience better because your wife plays with you, but my wife doesnt, and i need more inter-personal action that DDO provides.

It's a nice game, just not my cup o tea

Sounds like the exact same problem I had with wow. couldn't make it past lvl 15, soloing was way too boring for me.

Perhaps a Rifts forum would have a greater appreciation for your Rifts moments. I'm sure they have one.

Glad you are having fun, but yeah... I can't say I care a whole lot about a game I don't play and have zero interest in playing in the future. Thanks for the spoiler warning tho...

Actually, this is exactly why I am enjoying the game. It's something that the Mrs and I can do together without interacting with anyone else. When I feel like being social, there's DDO. When I don't, there's RIFT. Although I'm sure there are ways to be social in RIFT, that's not my interest there at this time.

Is RIFT any good? I mean, would you recommend it to a D&D nut?

For reference, I think I don't like WoW (never really tried it.)

My rift experience has been a bit MEH......

Good for a change BUT, found it sorta one dimensional with the quests. No voice chat in game, np use steam for that. However at early levels(I am only 15) I found it was more of a solo game rather than a grouping game. AS I enjoy the interaction/social aspect between players in DDO (made some nice RL friends from the game), as much as I enjoy the game itself. Found rift sortta lacking. Only time I have grouped so far has been when a "rift" drops. Then it is only for a short period. Will try it out some more when I have time but soo far very meh from me.
