So last week my boyfriend had to rush me to the hospital, he was in a shroud run and had to leave after explaining the situation to them. Today he tell when after logging in that a certain guild has blacklisted him for it. I just wanted to say to them I hope that your family is never in an emergency and has to be rushed to the hospital because goodness forbid you'll be blacklisted for having to do the right thing and be an adult. I can't stand people like that who think the world revolves around them and their guild. Really get the F over your selves. Sorry for the rant, but really people what would you do if your got blacklisted for taking the woman you love to the hospital?

Personally, I'd be glad they blacklisted me since they're not the kinds of folks I want to spend any kind of time with - let alone my leisure time. That is just scummy.

But yeah, who really cares if a guild blacklisted him. Tell them to go eff themselves. It's just a game. I'd never want to be associated with anybody who took a game that seriously anyways.

Also please don't die in real life or get robbed, don't have your power go out because of a storm, don't ever have to use the restroom or have an opinion that differs from theirs. Basically just be a robot with no soul. Geez some people.

OP, I hope you are feeling better! And no worries about the blacklist. Now you and the b/f won't need to group with people who think a game is more important than RL. As a father of 2 younger boys, trust me when I say I know something about RL interfering with my DDO time. Fortunately, my guild and others I group with have no problem with the "background noise" or me constantly saying BRB because I have to get juice or something for them.

Like others have said, you should be GLAD they blacklisted you because OBVIOUSLY these aren't the type of people that know its JUST A GAME and that REAL LIFE happens. The only saving grace I can possibly think of is that the group thought that was just a really elaborate excuse for a sudden intentional DC. I know I've thought up some doozies.

"Dude, the cat was messing around with my internet router and spilled my coffee all over it, and then the electrical charge flew through the coffee and zapped the cat, who freaked out and attacked my face. Bet that cat won't be messing around wires again in a hurry. I just wish I could find my left eye. The patch looks awesome, though."

There was however a Shroud run last week where a dude dropped half way through saying RL emergency, kids crying.

However his toon actually dropped and relogged on one of his alts and joined up with his guildies.

The Shroud run sent him tells and his story kept changing.

I sent him some tells and his story changed with me twice. He even tried to say the switching toons was his girlfriend looking at his toons.

He was blacklisted by many.

RL first for sure. Making RL excusses to bail on a run half way thru is worse than just straight bailing. Lier and a jerk rather than just a jerk.

I have been in a run when that happened, but he never relogged so they don't have that excuses. At the time they told him don't worry real life first and were really nice about it. But today he joins and party and is told one of the party members refuses to play with him because his blacklisted by his guild. Gotta love the two faceness.

Im the guild leader of ladyofevilness' guild and i completely agree that no one should ever play with this guild again. i hope they go eff themselves with a morningstar (they seem to have a lust for blood anyway! ) if the leader of this guild wishes to contact me id be happy to hear what he has to say as i hope this is just a misunderstanding but going on past encounters and people in my guild who used to be in that one i doubt it.

The woman of my life would roll her eye in disgust if she knows that I get affected by game where a so called guild blacklist me for settling real life matters. (She's not a gamer and she has been a great woman for tolerating my passion.)

Basically chill Lady, every story is taken with good faith and good will by anyone with different family upbringing and experiences (the person may have heard such drama just an excuse to bail out or have little trust in strangers for good reasons)

When playing multiplayer games people don't always remember they are actually playing with real living persons. This has been studied several times in different universities and the results are quite much the same.

I agree, RL before game. If I needed to log off for an emergency such as the hospital, I would not even bother taking the time to tell people why or even log off, but since hte people I play with know I have a wife and kids, they would not blink an eye and just tell me how I missed on on 5 people gettng double scales and offering to give them away. Screw them and there elitist blacklist for no reason attitude

Rather interested in this. Had a guildie not too long ago receive the same treatment when her kid got injured and she had to prematurely leave a Shroud. Lady, I wouldn't mind if you shot me a tell/PM with the guild in question, I'd like to see if this is a common occurrence for them. Hope all is well, and take care ^.^
