    Wink Airship beacons

I've seen the airship beacons in the DDO store, but I'm never likely to fork out for one because they'd just burn away my TP in no time. I'd rather spend them on something more permanent.

I was wondering though whether you might not have as an airship amenity some sort of beacon dispenser? (I've no problem with it being gold seal only if it's a revenue issue.) The idea being that while you're on the ship you can get your buffs and pick up a beacon while you're there (exclusive, btc); perhaps it expires after a certain period of time (say 90 mins) or when you log out. Perhaps you have to use gold to buy it - doesn't matter really.

Anyway, it would be like a one-use teleport scroll that can only be used in safe areas that can take you straight back to your airship. Where you could refresh your buffs, grab a new beacon and head off back to the action. Thinking a mid-level perk.

Especially handy in places like Reaver's Refuge where the airship is so very, very far away...

Blast! I forgot my Beacon! Now I have to buy one from the DDO Store because I have gotten used to them instead of running back to my Guildship.

    ...

    Profit.

Beacons are meant for VIPs, they are a convenience item and nothing more. With that said one improvement that would be nice is to make them 2-way as opposed to just 1-way. When someone places a beacon in an area it creates a beacon on the ship. Anyone on the ship can then utilize that beacon to transport to the original beacon's location. To accommodate for multiple beacons being placed it can have a dialog prompt. When you click on the beacon on the ship, it'll ask you which location you want to go to.

Or maybe have the store sell them cheaper like 5tp for one or 15 for 50tp. I bet people would be much more likely to use them and burn through them fast, buying so much more often, once they get used to having them. Win win all round.

    Bah.
Here I thought this was going to be a request to make Airship Bacon more functional. And, may I add, Airship Bacon Dispensers I'd totally /sign!

As per usual, when your friend in your grp is right by the portal, right click his name in the group panel and select "invite to guild ship"
