Default Flufty - H/Orc Wraith fighter

I currently have a similar build as a WF and planning to TR it into H/Orc for bonus' to damage (slight loss in hp)

The build is played to NOT get hit (compared to Tukaw's awesome build who wants to get hit) with displace + wraith form = 37.5% to be hit. The death aura on for constant self healing. Buff and fight with min2 falcion using div power and haste action boosts for dps.

    Feats
    - I don't have imp crit:slashing since I usually use a min2 falcion

    Equipment that I currently have
Helm - +6 seeker +15 con / umd bunny hat
    Trinket - +2 exec seeker
    Cloak - CO hp
Necklace - Sup Pot VI, wiz, virtuoso
Armour - DT Robes - res +5, +1 exec str, air guard / heavy fort, , (when not in wraith form)
Belt - +6 con, GFL, ToD belt / fire belt / ice belt / PM belt (when get ring)
Ring 1 - +1 exec int, virtuoso, +2 exec str
    Ring 2 - +6 int
    Boots - div power / anchoring / striding 30%
Bracers - leviks 20% healing amp, +6 str
Gloves - Brawling gloves (+7 str, sneak, shocking)/ titan grip / gloves glacier
Goggles - GS SP with cha skill +6
Weapons - min2 falcion (main) / vorpal / major fire with arcane lore cc item

    Pros
    - Only 37.5% chance to hit for trash
    - full UMD
    - PM self healing
    - 46 str (32 +7item +3exec +2ship +2rage)
    - around 60 base damage from self/ship buffs with 30ish glancing blows and 12ish sneak
    - 500hp
    - 8 haste boosts 20%
    - evasion but low reflex save 21(+13base +3stat item +5res item) for high end elite/epic content
    - full trapping skills for epic (apart from cabal trap)

    Cons
    - permanent feather fall when in wraith form
    - lowish hp for melee
    - lowish reflex for an evasion toon

    compared to WF
    - 2 extra action boosts (8 without putting on ToD ring)
    - +10 extra dmg per hit
    - -50hp

    Possible changes
    - I might craft a LitII falcion then get imp cirt:slashing, but what to swap:-
    - Quicken is not really used on current build unless acting as a reconstruct healer in raids and only then in ToD pt1 with dogs so this MIGHT be swapped
    - Insighful relexes gives +8 to reflex over using dex (+5 if squeeze in dex item)
    - GTHF would lose me last aptitude enh so -20% glancing blows = 12 damage
    - Get quickdraw. Since I have 8 action boosts, this would inc dps in boss fights
    - Get stunning blow. I could rearrange enh to get bonus to DC's.. would it be enough with 46str (52 situational from titan gloves).
    - drop 1 level of rogue which loses me evasion and some trapping abilities (hard to squeeze everything in) but get 7 fighter for 25% action boost instead of 20%.

    What does anyone think?

Blue + black is not the best route to see what did you wrote there.

    <ohh i see you already repaired it>

    EDIT:
    - ok looks interesting, a bit high int but I see you did get insightfull reflex.
    - Is there nothing better than swim skill? Maybe hide or boost a bit move silently (+invisibility +shroud of wriath)
Never seen one of this fancy Battle Pale Master in work, but for sure your "AC" will skyrock for melee caster.
    - Also your concalment gona be usefull in places when AC matter not -> epics (would like to see you tanking Abishai devastator :-P with healing of fellow PM)

Main reason for high int is for skill points. I used wiki/compendium stuff to find out what disable and search are required, then shoehorned everything in with keeping UMD and Conc max. I should look at what invis and shroud wraith does for hide/move silently, but I presumed that they were counted as maxed out being that you are FULLY hidden and don't make noises.

The WF version is alot of fun and sometimes has the most hp in quests when around other non-twinked melees. I'll miss the 540hp that I have, but 500 is a good enough trade-off for +10extra dmg and 120% heals (c.f. 70%) with current gear.

Cheers for the feedback - I love comments so I can tweak the build before I commit.

Reading, the shroud wraith gives you +10 to move silently, so I will need to try to buff that (or use a +15 ring) to get that high enough to bypass at level baddies (will it stack with items?).
The invis gives +20 to hide, so I will have to do the same... more moving skill points.

So.. does anyone know what decent values are for move silently and hide in shadows?

I think that Shadowmage's author can answer for that. http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=284478 Near 60.

Cheers for that mate. I didn't even think about stacking items with invis/wraith form.

If I read it correctly, Ghoste said that you would need around 40 for hide and closer to 60 for Move silently.

+15 item, +4 GH, +20 (wraith/invis) +3 stat item= +42 ontop of skills.. just need to get +10ish on skill points to make MS worthwhile.

Did my 40th shroud last night so next time I'm on... its TR time.

    Default Level 3

Got to Level 3 and since I grabbed a outfit of bull str, I currently have 28 str (+2 ship buff) which gets up to 30 when under half hp.. this is insane!!! (didn't get rage pots yet or are then higher level) I'm critting over 50 with a +2 GA.

Pendant of time is mega. With cure serious pots being cheap enough (guild vendor) and hirelings, keeping the ole hp up isn't hard.

Level 4 = Carnifex whoo hooo

I have a build change since I got a +3 tome from 40th shroud (instead of +3 str that I wanted for end-game) which actually works out better. I dropped my int by 1 point and increased con by 2. What this means is that I will be down by 3 skill points and gain 20hp. I'm planning on dropping dd by 2 points (probably have +20 dd item by the time I get to end-game, or I can just get rogue skill boost enh to make up the loss). Rogue haste boost is always nice for extra dps.

I think I made a wise choice going HOrc c.f. WF

I'm a slow leveller, so I'm only at 8 now but I have choices.

I initially grabbed the zombie shroud but its such a pile of **** that I dropped it (the attack speed is sooooo annoying). So my options are

1 - change maximise to mental toughness, spell focus:necro to spell focus:evocation and grab Archmage 1 with freebie magic missiles?
    - Pros = ranged attack - 4(dmg) * 1.5 (clickie or pot item) * 1.2 (force spec) =about 6dmg x4 = 24 damage (I don't have maximise - level 9). OKish damage for ranged or am I missing something.
    - Cons = mental toughness earlier than I wanted

2 - change spell focus:necro to THF and carry on as normal but with better glancing blow damage.

I'm kinda going with option 1 as I'll gain about 50sp as well. I just have to remember to change feats back before I get too high level so I don't have to get exceptional shards.

The build is alot of fun and will only get better with more levels.

Hit level 13, so got wraith form.
For Levelling I changed to AM:evo for freebie magic missiles and extra SP as necro focus was useless. Change these when you are level 12 to avoid the higher plat and shard costs (I banked xp for this, as 3 day wait for the 2nd change). With a sup impact item I hit for about 100dmg before melee came in. I usually duo'd with a pocket cleric as they're alot cheaper than pots.

With wraith form, hirelings are a thing of the past. Granted I got my greensteel goggles, cloak and falcion, so more sturdy.
Level 13 = 312 hp, 1050 sp (with shrine items), 34 str and hit for around 50base, 120ish crits (no bloodstone yet).

Wraith form and displace is amazing and I usually forget to have auras on until after fights or when I get my 1/2 hp warning (HOrc enhancement). No probs with casting while fighting due to high conc.
Occasionally I need to turn off PA, but most of the time its when I've been debuffed, so no GH, DP, etc.

I knew this build would shrine at level 13 and it does. Next level is final rogue to get evasion and UMD back up to a decent level (currently cure serious wands at 95% for helping other party members out)so heal scrolls will become viable to help others. Evasion will help as I can only do trial by fire on hard since that end bugger cometfalls and dispels me too much - rest of quest is easy as you don't get hit much and when you do, both auras keep you full. I do need a neg energy clickie to use as I'm only getting around 20hp per tick (I think).
Only traps that I've failed on is Temp Spine elite for search and VON4 elite where I blew it us as I still had search goggles on.. oops.

Just curious if you still run this toon, and what he's like on late to end game content.

I still run the toon (my main). I hit 20 early Dec as I'm a slow leveller. I changed around my feats and got rid of insightful reflexes for imp crit:slashing (for Terror) and Quickdraw instead of Quicken (50ish conc and I never fail a spell).

Works awesome at all quests. I've soloed on hard Amarath Sins, Cannith quests, and most other quests on elite. Throughout all the quests on hard you basically don't lose any hp due to dmg mitigation, then its just being prep'd for the end boss (DoT's are your friend).
Sins on Elite is soloable, but for me I don't have a better shield than Reavers, so I can't regain hp quick enough so I was using bursts and used about 300 sp per encounter (inc 1st boss at table).
Only epic's I've tried to solo are House D ones and they have clerics so something like 300dmg light spells, so its a race between then going down or spamming them spells (I usually lose).

Dmg mitigation (prob wrong on my assumptions
    - Base for trash mobs = displace(50%) + incorp(25%) + 2 auras(24 +6) + thrashax bracers(3)
    = 1/0.375 * (30+3) = 88
    - Add stoneskin (10DR)
    = 1/0.375 * (30+10) = 106
    - Reavers shield (15DR I think)
    = 1/0.375 * (30+15) = 120
    For red named (true seeing)
    - Base = 44
    - Stoneskin = 53
    - Reaver = 60

Has 44str (50 with titan clickie), 500hp (with rage).
base dmg (min2 falcion) = 60-70, crits up to 170 self buffed with titan clickie with 30 bonus dmg with glancing blows.

Terror is mega and the whole reason I got imp crit slash.

Awesome in a group with no fail heal scrolls, trapping, etc.

Raids are the hard part as people don't like the build and need convincing to take you even though you have decent dps (as far as I've seen).

For me power jumped at 12 with GS, 14 with wraith from, 18 with ToD items, 20 with Kensai.

Knowing how much the community tends to hate battlemages, do you have much trouble getting into parties?

I personally don't bother much with PUG's unless its raids or I want to help people out (flagging quests). I always ask in guild if anyone needs help or wants to run things, but since I'm part of a large guild you can always chill with folks. When levelling I put up lfm's with BYOH to be social.

I personally hate waiting around 10 mins to find a healer, and with PUG's I tell them that I'll heal between fights as long as you can get through them, so no healer needed (hirelings are better now).

Raid groups are different as people want cc from a wiz, so they decline you straight away. If they want dps, they ignore you until you let them know what dps you can bring and half the time I still don't get any replies. To me this is dumb as I can outdps alot of melees due to gear (and I'm usually in the top half of hp in a raid group due to gear). 2 other Pale Masters for auras along with this build can tank Sally with the healers on the rest of the group.

Take it as you will. If you have a good guild that are open, you'll be fine and they will like it when you show them what you can do. If you are relying on PUG's, then either join first or don't bother with them and put up an lfm with BYOH in it.

I played a similar style build 12wiz/6monk/2fighter. Wraith form + Displacement + Shadowfade. I'm not sure how they stack, but I liked it. I went with unarmed to stay centered so it would play differently than your toon, but I had fun with it. I soloed most content or ran with guildies as I'm certain it would frustrate groups to have a melee wizard with them. I got a chuckle out of taking advantage of every bonus on Frozen Tunic and Bracers of Wind. There is even a potential for AC on the toon, but probably not worth the effort.

Wraith and shadow don't stack together, but they do with displace.

My toon is a robe wearing HOrc that styles a pirate hat and a GS Falcion. Gives new guildies a chuckle when they first see him.

Monk splash is another way instead of fighter (can take advantage of zombie for 6 levels of wiz until you get wraith). I went fighter as it was a WF similar build with GS falcion before PM came out and I spent too long getting ingreds to make that falcion to say bye bye to it.

If you join a PUG (esp early on when you don't have alot of ftr levels) you need to tell them that you have **** DC's so they know what to expect. Then again alot of mindsets will drop you after that.
