The Guardian of Shan-To-Kor is actually scary enough to freak you out when he makes his sudden appearance.

I can't believe the big chest filled jello lost to the guardian. Maybe it's because I can't get over his old days as a wannabe fire giant. When he got his makeover he looked 10x more impressive. But, his stats were dropped almost as much. He used to be one of the toughest in fights in the game. Now you can solo him if your packing the right gear.

Definitely voting for squid-boy. And it's not because he's manipulating me too... not... at... all.

Sorry fellas - Guardian of Shan-to-Kor has got this hands down. Nothing worse than seeing piles upon piles of treasure you cant even get a handful of.

While I actually prefer the original 'fire giant' look, I understand the graphics upgrade, but the stat drop was...disappointing for sure.
I believe in mind over matter. If I don't mind, it doesn't matter.

    Sarlona! Yep, back again.

Also very dissapointed that the gelatin cube lost; most unique treasure guardian I've ever seen (minus how much tougher it is). That would have won this round. Ah well. Must cast my vote for a monster that you actually fight...

Same. The first time I saw the Guardian I literally jumped out of my chair and thought "what a waste of a quest - no way am I gonna beat THIS thing". Somehow I survived the fight (it was just my wimpy Elf Ranger and my hireling, at-level) and that was definitely my proudest moment in DDO up to that point.

Few years ago i should have vote for STK (not for the skin but for the powers he got) but now he's just so weak he deserve to go to Korthos with the Illithid so i vote for the last one who knows his place ^^

The illithid is so wimpy, the closest he comes to confronting you is to taunt you from behind a giant clear plastic sneeze-guard. Calamari in a salad bar does sound scary, but it lacks the pizazz I demand from my bad-guys.

Meanwhile, the giant is so butch, he continues to brandish his club after he dies.

    Giant wins this one.

    Default Scary Weapon

Come on. The guy is scary enough but you kill him and his club just hovers around in the air waiting for someone to swing it at you. Now that is magic.

    Default Go Go Guardian

I say the Guardian wins. He's unique in DDO - very scary looking. Hate to meet a group of those guardians in a dark sewer :P

Normally I would vote for the Mind Flayer... but this particular Mind Flayer makes me run through nigh endless hordes of boring enemies in a ridiculously huge area for a stupid long time...

So I vote for the lame duck, the Guardian, who used to actually force players to think about tactics before fighting him. Now he's just a pushover...sigh. He won't go far in this contest though, for sure. He needs a new toughness makeover.

the first time i saw the guardian i was scared i thought i would never win yet i did it was a miracle a lvl 3 wizard elf could beat him with a lvl 3 hire. yet when i saw my first mindflayer i thought pshhh as a 16 wiz ill own this guy and then i was dead next thing i knew it. i have to give this to mindflayer because they are thougher than they look and the guardian is weaker than he looks.

    Default Stk Ftw

One of my fondest memories in DDO was my first battle with the STK Guardian (v1.0). As the rogue, it was my job to spawn the big guy while everyone else huddled in the corner and the wizard pummeled him with magic missles. Until he ran out of mana, anyway. I decided to help out (again, FIRST battle), and flung my Adamantine Throwing Dagger at the back of his skull with all the precision of my craft. Critical Hit plus Sneak Attack for about half his hit points. I was so proud. Until he turned around and started chasing me with that Redwood he calls a club. So here I am, tumbling around the room like I'm on fire while the tanks are trying in vain to pull the agro off of me. They finally managed to take him down, and I crawled away having learned a valuable lesson; don't sneak attack anything you can't kill.

Since his nerf update, that same dagger to the skull would probably leave the rest of the party with a lot of time on their hands, but it's still better than standing around while a dragon does all the work for you.

I'm definitely more in favor of a monster that I actually get to FIGHT!
