Dark side in general no. Touch of Death (the good stuff) is fist only for example.

Light side in general yes. Those light side buffs, heals work with LS.

iirc, touch of death and quivering palm are the only strikes that require fist attacks only.

all other strikes should work regardless of weapon.

Go equip a quarterstaff or Kama and tell me if you can't do ki strikes. You can do ki strikes even if you're uncentered if you can keep the ki high enough.

I don't know whether this is WAI of not, but whenever I try to use monk attacks, such as void strike or fires of purity, etc. I get an error when using monk weapons, including q-staffs and kamas

My monk/fighter quarterstaff kensai wouldn't be able to use his finishers if what you said is true. I fire off like three at a time when I fill my ki bar. Even void strikes land.

There's something else going on here.

Do you have the 5 ki needed for your first tier elemental strike when needed?

all I know is the damage isn't applied, and i don't get the finishers when I use it, get something like : "you are not using the proper weapon to use this ability."

You definitely cannot use Touch of Death, Quivering Palm, or Stunning Fist using anything other than unarmed. The other monk attacks should be available though.

You are wrong have a 14/6 Pali/Monk WSS longsword user and use all strikes accept ones mentioned above all stance strikes like light dark fire .... are avaiable using any monk weap.

Supposedly, Smite Taint works on the offhand proc for a weapon while it doesn’t work for an offhand proc of unarmed. (Both work on a doublestrike proc.) No. I can’t produce a link. It’s buried in the lammaland forums from way back when Shintao was updated to the current Smite Taint.

If you’re plotting some sort of Paladin/Monk the same holds true for Exalted Smite and Divine Sacrifice. (Though the regular Smite Evil Feat works.) Not just any LINK but a COW™ certified link.
