The point wasnt to figure out if OP can keep himself under haste , what, btw i'm sure he can , but to say that buffing a raid with haste ,(and others rage, gh blabla -and yes clickies exist for those spells, we know-)is part of beeing a caster, and when you roll one, you know its a part of what you'll have to do in raids .Just like healers aren't supposed to just throw heals, sometimes DW, recitation, fom whatever is appreciated , and i hardly see a healer telling someone "you should have your permanently fom named boots" .
    So you're not /ending the thread, you're /missing the point .

What's it 06/07 again? I thought this debate was decided long ago. It's kind of ridiculous how many people took the bait on this one.

Run out of spell points? Then fireball is being done too often. I'm all in for this low level wizard doing melee-stuff. I've played my wizard lives just like that but if you can't crasp the concept of doing both; buffing party and getting rid of dangerous groups with one cast.. You are doing it wrong. Also spells aren't saved by these "human types" unless your DCs slack. Again, don't cast fireball against everything because you will run out of spell points.

<50dmg burning hands.. people even talking about that spell.. I'm out.

Its not a normal Burning Hands, its one which deals twice as much DMG, and cost triple SP, or wait... there is no deal. :-)

No, you use an item that cost 10 pp. At least for level 5 and 6. Then when you get to level 7, you use firewall.

Haste is great for your party. A well used Haste spell here and there will help the mission go faster. Constantly hasting folks to run from point a to point b without a fight is a waste, but before a fight...it is "The Buff that the Monster's Mom warned them about".

My thoughts on this entire back in forth is "Communicate with your party" when you join. Let them know if you like to throw haste, when you are going to and what behavior you expect.

Everyone will get along much better, and if someone does not like it, they, or you can find other folks to have fun with.

Save the hard words for something that matters by talking it out upfront.

But in the Subteranne you will hear healers telling melee to get the necklace from Necropolis

On my casters, I rarely bother hasting the melees outside of raids. Reason is simple: when I am on caster, 90% of the time I can solo the quest.

From time to time I do stay in the back and relax, hasting the melees and letting them kill some trash mobs. Just so they dont feel useless. I am that nice.

In raids, I do keep them hasted though.

There is no need to haste anyone prior to level8-10 most of the time.
