    Exclamation Targeting with TAB illogical

If this has been posted elsewhere, I apologize in advance!

I am an Arcane Archer (gasp), and make heavy use of the tab key.

At lower levels, I really didn't notice this, because I was killing everything without any strategic thought.

Now, however, I want to choose my target with strategy in mind; whether that be for maximum improved precise shot effectiveness, or just to take out that bloody cleric!

I used to think using TAB to cycle between targets went from closest to farthest (I have all auto target/auto attack options off); but now I cannot for the life of me figure out what the logic is.

I am beginning to think the game targets either randomly or "everything except the target the Player Character wants" sometimes

In all fairness, it may be game draw order... first target the engine created, and so-on. dunno.

Anyway, can we please look at two possible options:
    1) Nail it down to nearest-to-farthest at least, so we can predict which target we're gonna see highlight next
    2) give an option to invert that (farthest-to-nearest targets)

Hmm - have you tried using the 'Select Previous Enemy' key? Might need to be manually set in your control options

    If I remember correctly, shift+TAB does farthest-to-nearest.

Not yet, but I will this weekend. There was another suggestion to shift-tab. I'll try that to see if it behaves better than nearest-to-farthest.

EDIT: Just tried the shift-tab thing. Although cycling doesn't appear to be strictly farthest-to-nearest, either; it actually matters less for me if I start with it... It starts with farthest, and so far, that has sufficed to remove frustration on my part trying to get to the back of the crowd.

Thanks very much for the pointer!

    Cool

Backspace U backspace U! Shinies ftW! Magically open doors and throw levers in record time!

greatest thing about tab.. finding those pesky searing light casting divines...

seems like tab might be line of sight + draw distance.... I'll try the shifty thing myself... thanks for the tip
