    Default Best Class for one

I like my dwarves to be fighters or rangers. Since Half Orcs came out, no point in being a barbarian anymore.

I have created a dwarf cleric/monk but I am only level 12 and I am not sure of the power or lack there of in that character yet. It might be that since I play clerics, I am playing too much cleric with him and not enough monk with him.

There is some synergy with a clonk for a dwarf. For one, assuming this is a hybrid build with 17+ levels of cleric and 2+ levels of monk with close to maximum wisdom (usually 16+ level ups) you can get quite a decent stunning fist DC using dwarven tactics, close to 40 which is enough for epics.

The extra SP that a dwarf cleric (and your character get) are quite valuable as well as the biggest weakness on such a build is a shallow SP pool until geared up.

Dwarves work well everywhere. 'Melee' classes benefit from the extra hp and weapon bonuses, while 'caster' classes benefit from the extra con. The only ones that, in my opinion, dont work well with Dwarves are Sorcs, Bards and paladins as Charisma is required by all of them and Dwarves start with a penalty to it, but that can be overcome with a little bit of work.

Even Bards do well as Dwarven Warchanters since the Warchanters don't tend to need as much Cha as the other types.

Of course hOrcs are tailor-made for barbs, but if don't have access to the premium races, dwarves are a good choice. And I agree that they make excellent fighters and rangers; I have a dwarven tempest meself, tho altaholism has taken me away, lol.

Not true. Although they may start with a lower CHA than other classes, dwarves can be great paladins. They can use dwarven axes or greataxes (maybe falchions too, if you want to crit), have higher CON and gets those armor mastery enchancements. Also, they get more SP from the racial enchancement, too.
