I've played them both, I personally prefer and enjoy the WF over the HORC.
they are both very strong classes. When well played and geared, they are pretty equal
Half-orc gives you +4 max STR over WF -- +2 from a higher starting STR and +2 from half-orc racial enhancements. That is +2 to hit and +2 to damage.
I should mention that, if you let yourself drop to less than 50% of your HP, you can get temporary boosts to STR from half-orc enhancements as well. I'm not sure that this is a great strategy, but it is there.
Do you have trouble hitting stuff now? My bet is that you do not.
Do you have trouble hurting stuff now? Again, my bet is that you don't.
So, what else can you gain from half-orc?
Well, if you use THF you can gain another +4 damage with your two-handed weapons.
The trade offs? Well, you seem to know those.
I have played both-but survivability well exceeds additional DPS.
WF still the superior race.
Wait wait... you mentioned being a barb... but are you TR'ing into a Barb, fighter, paladin, or a monk?
Do you like your current gear set-up and DPS output.
If you do change to Horc you are going to go fetch your DT prior to Reincarnation?
What is this crazy server people are speaking of where a WF tank actually gets repaired by an arcane? It certainly isn't ghallanda. While there are a handful of powergaming duos where an arcane repairs a barb, the vast vast majority of times this does not happen and the difficulty of the raid needs to be toned down because of a WF tank's abysmal healing amp. Half Orcs, on the other hand, make amazing tanks, and don't forget to add their extra action boosts to the laundry list of goodies.
