    Default Extra Action Boosts

Do the extra action boosts from fighter apply only to fighter action boosts or do they also apply to Human Versatility?

Since they are both action boosts I'm assuming they do.

They apply to all your action boosts.

    Outstanding! Thanks!

I was looking to create a fun, quick to level fighter build that isn't as backloaded as my last life I'm planning (Helves Angel). I wanted to go with stunning blow, cleric or fvs dilettante (not sure if cleric one is better by 5% - if so definitely the cleric), heavy picks and kensei. Ramps up quickly, get quickdraw both for weapon swaps (if you need a +10 stunner) and for action boost activation. You've got haste boosts, to-hit boosts (when the haste boosts run out or if you don't really care), human versatility damage boosts...just a bunch of fun toys.

Now I have to decide whether to splash monk or not to splash monk. I'm leaning toward not taking the monk splash just because I have some cute non-pajama armor for this toon, but having evasion as an option is definitely interesting as well as having monk hand-wrap attack speeds for 100% fort enemies.

Might I tempt you with Half Orc?

    5 normal boosts
    +3 from Kensei
+2 from Fighter Extra Action Boost 2
+3 from Horc Extra Action Boost 3
    = 13 per rest...

Nah...I really can't abide without solid healing of some sort. I like soloing/short-manning too much. With the Horc I'd end up needing a hireling and/or cleric strapped to my hip. Definitely tempting though

    Hmm...

    UMD:

    11 Ranks
    3 Skill Focus
    3 CHA Mod (6 Base + 2 Tome + 6 Item + 2 Ship)
    4 GH
    3 Cartouche
    3 Epic Spyglass
    2 Good Luck
3 Alchemical Bonus to CHA skills (House D potion)
    =32

That's no-fail Cure Critical Wounds wands, and a pretty good shot at getting off Teleport and other level 5 spells. Also a 60% chance at using a Heal scroll.

You could even get it to 40 (with substantially more work), with +6 CHA skills from Shroud and a +5 UMD item, for a total of 40.

Or a Rogue splash for Evasion and UMD.

Might i tempt you with Rogue Dilletante?

You could gain a juicy +3d6 sneak attack damage, which would really add up with Fighter Haste Boost, GTWF, and Doublestriking Capstone. And an important side benefit - You will already have 13 dex to qualify for the TWF feats, and you can drop CHA and WIS down to their proper 8 at start, giving you 5 more points at creation to play with!

Also note that once you get Kensai II, those attack boosts you mentioned are completely outdone by Power Surge (Which draws from the same action boost pool as the attack boosts). +4 to hit for 20 seconds, or +8 strength (+4 to hit, +4/+2 damage per hand, and +4 to tactics DCs) for 1 minute. No contest!

Yes this makes you less survivable, but Aylin already showed that you can get half-decent UMD. Besides which, having less DPS when you *do* have a steady source of heals just makes your self-sufficiency redundant. Also, i wouldn't go monk, as you moderate dex, and low reflex saves from fighter will get you into "Will fail reflex saves more often than make them" territory anyhow. Plus, the Fighter Capstone is pretty awesome.

This is just to get to 20 at which point I'll be TR'ing each time. I'd rather be tossing out 95% success heal scrolls starting at level 15 and cure serious/critical wands until then rather than struggling to get to the point of having useful UMD.

Now, if I were staying at 20 for awhile I'd definitely LR my wisdom over to charisma and a bit of int and switch to rogue dilettante in a heartbeat. But the trip from 15-20 relying on wands just doesn't appeal to me when I really do want to solo quite a bit. On a 3xdouble-TR like I'm planning I'll have to solo, group, raid, and stand on my head to get it done this year.

Exactly. That's why I really like Half Elf on these builds...tossing in another +5 damage with the boosts that are already available is just sick.
