July 12th is the official date A Dance with Dragons is released. I know some like me have been waiting for many frustrated years for this book.

Now I have to go back and reread everything to make sure I'm caught up.

I completely understand the frustration level as I have pre-ordered thsi book on 2 seperate occasions in the past 3 years, lol.

I do have to admit though, this is the first time Martin has actually come forth to say that this is indeed a hard date. Everything else has been a "hope to" sort of comment.

I will believe it when my "again" pre-ordered copy shows up on my doorstep.

I heard its being released the same day as the last book for Wheel of Time, Diablo 3, Balders Gate 3 and the return of Jesus H Christ!

Honestly,the book wont be worth the wait.

It's been what,6 years?

The book itself is not gonna justify the time spent on it,short of it being such an epic book it can stand on its on legs for ages to come...which it just won't be.

GRRM's publisher should have put out a life insurance policy on the man a long time ago,only way they'll ever get the money back that they forwarded him at the start of this little adventure.

Also,its kinda sad that the best career move the man could make is to die and let some other freak show take a shot at finishing the series before we all die of old age.

I have nothing of value to add to this thread. I am very pleased with the news. I hope I am able to reread the first 4 books in time for the release.
