    Default Ghosts of Perdition - AAAAAAAGH!!!

    Why does the ice reform, blocking the party members from getting back in to the final fight?

    Why did our party of 17th levels (no bad builds here, thanks), on normal difficulty, maxed out on turning buffs and stats, armed to teeth with deathblock, spell resistance, pure good holy weapons, and literally everything but precious WALL OF FIRE go through 8 spirit cakes only to get blocked from coming back in to finish the ordeal?

    Why are the ice flensers stuck in the door frame??

    Rhetorical.

    This quest is so broke it makes the Sphinx and Venus DeMilo look whole and complete by comparison. This is, like, my 12th time trying to complete this thing.

    This rant concludes any discussion. I'm completely beside myself, and $20 poorer. Let me go see if I still have any friends.

    sounds like a bug...the ice shelves shouldn't reform. I haven't been in there in a while, though.
    - I've been to so many raids, but I wouldn't call myself a vet, since I have yet to try out different strategies, tactics and classes in raids.

    silver flame talisman
    cloak of the world shaper

    ghost touch not pure good / mabar cloak / spectral gloves ....must hit undead beholder..must have greater cold rssist item....must have good saves.

    did ya have a healer? why not just heal him to death

    I don't think it's a bug. It's WIA. There are many quests you can't simply re-enter and complete.

    Ghosts of Perdition is routinely run at level. It's quite a nice xp farm, can be very quick. It can be duo'd quite efficiently... it can even be solo'd if you nudge the brothers correctly.

    You're doing something wrong. The quest is not broken. You need to change tactics, or your builds/equipment are not as good as you think they are.

    But I'm curious why you think a quest that's been around for years, and run hundreds of times a day is broken.

    If you think GoP is hard... wait til you face the Doomsphere again in Litany.

    I know I should run those quests more, but of the times I have ran that 1, it worked the same way.

    Ppl couldn't re-enter end fight area. Thought was WAI.

    I quite often solo GoP when leveling my divine or arcane casters. Ive done it few times last week, but on divine, so I can't say anything about ice reforming now, only that it is still easily soloable for a divine (mine had only 12 cleric levels ). When I was doing that in the past on my arcanes, I was using DD to go back to the shrine and ice was not reforming then, but it was in december 2010

    As of a couple of weeks ago you could re enter all you liked,
    even taking a DD back to the beginning if needed.

    Doomsphere in litany *shivers*.. I was perma knockdown there. I think I was KDed by a slippery ice, then dropped down the water, everytime I tried to stand up, I always fell down. Maybe because I was under water and the ice floor is above me, hitting my head everytime I stand up.

    Enough derailing, sorry there OP.

    Anyway, I ran this many many times for the sigil farming. Almost all of the scenarios I faced. Perferct run, and perfect wiped where we need to re-entry. No ice blocking the path. Is he/she at the correct path? Impossible to get lost in GoP though.

    Just ran it a few days ago.

    A friend Clonk died soloing the undead beholder. He sent me a tell asking if I could rez him coz Beholder down to less than 10%. So I joined his party (2 persons/ me and him now), entered GoP quest, ice not blocking me at all, went straight down to beholder hole. Resurrected him. healed beholder to death (again, sort of hehe).

    Not sure if above is helpful but I was able to enter quest and didn't encounter ice reforming.

    *MIGHT* have a difference if I was with him when we first entered quest. Just saying, if you read my statement above, ice wasn't blocking me from entering final fight.

    But yes, theres a render stuck at the wall. Its just funny.

    It’s a bug. It happened to me last night. It’s not like that’s the only thing down there that’s bugged. (Burn Doomsphere BURN!) Bug report it. If you try to run it again make sure you don’t dim door out of the fight. Even as a solo caster you can get under the doomsphere to avoid the anti-magic cheese Turbine coded into DDO.

    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.

    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.

    very slightly off-topic. Against Doomsphere or even GoP, get a summon. If eladrin cleric is available get him up. The more people attacking/aggro-ing the beholder the better chance your group will have. Use diplomacy if you can too on other fights but don't think it works on undead beholders (I slip my diplo rings whenever I fight bosses).

    I thought beholder's are chaotic? Or did being undead changed them?

    I'd thought they'd probably be chaotic evil:
    chaotic from their beholder side
    evil from being undead and siding with the abbot.

    I have had that bug before. You can bug it and get a gm to come help, or use my super secret remedy

    Start to recall and then interrupt the recall with a sec or two left. Probably a coincidence, but when I interrupted, the bugged floor broke!

    If you have a single radiant servant with you and he stays near the beholder using his burst everyones neg levels will be removed and the beholder will take a lot of damage not to mention what the dps characters can dish out and people will stay mostly healed. The key is to ff down to him so the healers can damage him with heal as soon as he is in range before u all drop on him. The rest of what you speak about sounds like a bug to me. We usually run it in our tr groups in 6-8 minutes on any difficulty. It sounds to me like you had a bad instance.

    In Eberron, monsters can be of any alignment, just like humans.

    Though, from the story, the Abbot forced him (right?)....so he really wants you to win.

    A strange way of think about it...but if a creature becomes a polar different alignment when it dies...other than the negative plane influence, it would be interesting to primarily have LG undead beholders...as punishment for their lack of sins...

    and think that we managed to solo or duo up to trio quadruo pentuo esuo (sixuo)
    only with lvl 15 no more plz coz they screw xp ! (so no lvl 16 no lvl 17)
    in 4 minutes normal 11 times in a row always no fail, sometimes 1 death only per trial
    and like 5 or 6 min in hard
    (saved elite in case fore +2 levels later)


    yes 4 minutes ghost instead of the 5-6 people normally do: secret is barbarian speed movement buff very resourceful !
    we spared more than 20 minutes (11n1h)

    Normally, Beholders are Lawful Evil. That particular Doomsphere (Undead Beholder) is Lawful Good.

    Thanks, I didn't know that Beholders are Lawful, since I though they're aberrations from the plane of Xoriat.
