I just need to finish a quick Bastion. Be right there.

I never have that problem when I post a LFM...all mine say, "in Progress" and if someone joins, good for them...if they don't make it, their loss. I might wait for a few minutes after posting to actually go into the quest...but I wait for no one unless they communicate a valid reason for a travel delay....i.e."I am in Meridia now, but on my way, meet ya in Necro."
It takes a lot to get the 'Big' guy riled up but I can't agree more. Too many parties waste time/xp pots etc waiting for the one guy. Sad part, I usually just start and say catch up, but that same guy obviously has no idea where the quest is or how to get there......
One other thing I want to add to the rant list: When you own a LFM and are only looking for 1 class in particular, CHANGE the LFM to show that... dont be surprised when you get a dps class hitting the lfm when you 'think' you need a healer... also dont be rude and not reply to that hit...
That said, the pugs who need to see this, never will.

Uber has nothing to do with it. This has to do with showing respect for the other members of a party and what their intent is. Quite frankly as the OP stated, there is a complete lack of polite behavior and if it had been me, you'd have been out of a party - BOOT.

"We are starting in 1 min".
After 1 min, remove them.
Since I'm a DDOCast fanboy, I'll go ahead and plug Shamgar's upcoming Epic Education segment on Etiquette in episode 207. (Not available as of this posting, but soon, I'm sure!) It'll probably be more limited in scope than this discussion, but you all seem to be interested in good manners of any kind. Except that one person, who left the server. I don't know when the segment airs for "I'll put up with your **** forever, no matter what a waste of time and bandwidth you are."

I will admit, I didn't read the whole thread. Just these first two posts.
I agree with both statements. I handle my resource management when I am *not* in a party.
If I see an LFM for a Pug quest/raid up, I:
Do a quick check of my resources/timer.
Do a quick check that I sold/repaired after the last mission. (I always do, but just in case)
Check that I am actually what they are looking for under the LFM description.
Ship Buff.
*THEN* Click the LFM. I then wait on my Ship, ship buffing again if the LFM takes more than ten minutes to fill. Otherwise, the Navigator quickly ports me to where I need to go.
Note that Ship Buffs come before LFM clicking. If someone beats me to the 12th spot because I was running around clicking every shrine on my ship? That's my fault, and they deserve that spot more than me.
I personally don't use them much.....really only the stacking 10% healing amp when on a WF toon.
The question though is why do groups always seem to be waiting to get going because a person or two feels they must have them. The quests were here before ship buffs. We did the quests on elite....WITHOUT...ship buffs. Why do we always need them now for every little quest?

I generally post with "Going in 3 Mins" and then update every minute until i change it to IP....
Or for some .... "You missed it!"
Either way....making people wait on you.....just makes me even more sure i didnt need them.
If you want to wait in traffic i hear......DDO is not for you.
In Progress... works every time.. however I myself have been guilty of the "**** I need to buy scrolls" when I log into my cleric, however... I only log that piece of **** character when my raid/party is in dire need of one (or I don't trust such in such to solo heal a shroud). Otherwise.. I'm on my monk and always ready to rock with or without buffs and can teleport anywhere I need to go.
My cleric no longe carries Neutralize Poison... I won't buff resists unless it is a simple request... my wizard rarely casts GH (my bard will though lol)...
why?
Cuz you got a ship... a house p.. heck.. buy pots and gear...
Now I'm not against PUGrs nor do I care if you die or just want to pike (most quests are easy and getting xp is even easier)... just don't hold me up... be obnoxious or constantly talk about how sexy my toon is... telling me how sexy my characters butt is is really whacked considering manhands and all...
(p.s. the whole party couldn\t wait to boot that wierdo lol)

I do like when people in the PUG start going off on completely wild topics of conversation, though. Even if we end up taking longer to complete the quest, having the guy that explain his conspiracy theory of how modern Jews actually worship the ancient Greek god Saturn definately makes that time seem to pass more quickly.
I figure, if you're going to be slow in getting airship buffs or whatever, you at least owe the party some entertainment while they wait.
