    Default Spellsmasher the build

    This is the build I am thinking of following with the new now level 5 sorc I am playing. Please tell me what you think.

    Rerolled to be true neutral and now level 6....very fun to play thus far.

    spellsmasher is now level 7 with level 8 banked. Still very fun to play. I am changing the feats some from what is shown on the planner. Have teken / will take:

    1) empower
    2) maximize
    3) extend
    4) heighten
    5) toughness
    6) spell pen
    7) Greater spell pen
    8) spell focus enchantment

    Hows this look?

    To be honest, I was expecting some kind of melee sorc.

    I actually do melee some with him using a quarterstaff.

    I throw a spell (fireball, magic missle, etc.) then go in swinging my quarterstaff with bulls might, rage, haste, herosim, etc. buffs running. Its effective for low levels.

    ....but no I am not into flavor builds, which is what a melee sorc would be.

    Two things, Drop the two '.5s' on the skills and add them somewhere else (or if havn't maxed balance out, assuming you've maxed UMD put the point from UMD there).

    Also, Quicken is useful even on a sorceror just for the no fail spell, but it's not as important like on other spell casters.
    If you do get quicken, i'd suggest dropping greater spell pen.

    Its just the toons name.....

    Since I have played wizards to 20 but never managed to get a sorc past level 5 I thought I would get some input since sorcs are tight on feats and can be tight on skill points.

    Thanks. Your right UMD is maxed and the 1/2 point is wasted there.

    I like the build. Great Evoker. What scares me about Sorcerers is the lack of Feats for Greater Spell Pen and Greater Spell Focus. I love the shortened cooldown times. This is what makes Sorc builds fun. I still prefer a WF Wizard ArchMage as the "best" caster type. Woodward would agree with me.

    Yes the lack of feats means you DC's will suffer. Yes woodward agrees, but since the sorc pre's are coming out next mod I wanted to have a hopefully level 20 sorc. Spellsmasher is level 9 with level 10 saved and working on level 11.

    Probably is an average sorc.....its the toons name. This is his first life. My plan for him is to TR at least twice....no idea where he will end up, but I posted to get input and have a place to keep track of him.
