Dragon Scale and DT Runes

Given how long it takes to grind out a set of Dragon Scale armour from Giant Hold Tor, or from epic VON, but the Tor in particular, it would be nice to be able to be able to upgrade the scale armour using runes WITHOUT losing the original elemental resists or ability/skill augments like provided by the blue and black armours in particular. Some would argue they are built well enough but given how long it takes to construct DT compared to the 25 plus runs it takes to construct one set of dragonscale, something must be able to be done to allow for dragonscale upgrades.
