I ask this as neutrally as possible:
Is it "Elitist" to decline a level 20 Pew-Pew Ranger with 280 HP for a Sins Elite group?
I was neither the Ranger, nor the decliner.
So what's the consensus, Sarlona?

not on sarlona but with that low hp I would decline someone on a normal sins run
Not on Sarlona, but dont think I'd take anyone with that low HP into a Sins elite group, no matter what the class.

I'd take him for the entertainment value.

Not elitist....by amrath (well really way before, but being generous here) any class needs more hp than that. And then add in you are doing elite..unacceptable.

If they have less HP then the caster or healer .... not only would I decline I would maybe ask him if he needs help fixing his character
People put too much faith in numbers. A barbarian with 500 HP could be as likely to die as a 280HP ranger, if the player doesn't have the skills to run the toon right. I'm not saying take the ranger or not, just some food for thought is all.
Depends if the whole group is going or if someone is just soloing to help people with favor.
Since you myddo'd the character in question it sounds like you planned on everyone contributing. On elite this requires people having their heads on straight and coming prepared.
A case could be made for if this character was in his haggle underwear, perhaps a few tells would have been appropriate.
Then again, if you didn't know their name/guild and their myddo looked like a "sabotage" character ala Ho********gun from back in the day then you probably saved yourself a lot of trouble.
Dude, maybe THAT quest was all he needed to turn his 280 HP into 320 HP!!

The only way somebody like that is surviving is to either (1) do no DPS, in which case decline him, or (2) run around like a cheerleader in a B-grade horror flick. In which case, decline him, /squelch him, and shoot his dog.
/shudder.
Probably so, but I remember when I first created my AA. Other players I ran with, were so insistent that I put too much into con and that I should lower it because I didn't need that much and I should put more into str, bla bla bla.
They are good players by the way, well recognized on the server.
Amusingly (not sure if its good or bad considering the topic at hand) my con was 14, which would amount to 220 at lvl 20 and 280 with +6 item. My head item is preoccupied and so I can't wear the Minos Legen. I have a GFL ring on, but that will get replaced at lvl 20, meaning I'll have to figure out another place to put GFL. The belt is preoccupied by Heavy Fort. What am I saying? I really have no idea, other than I'll have 280 at lvl 20 WITH a con item and not sure if I'll be able to get more.
Edit: correction in my favor, forgot to mention toughness, which will bring me up to 303, guess thats saying something.

Did you take Toughness?
That accounts for at least 60 more HP.
Refer to my edit, but amusingly, had I listened to them and only had 12 con, that would mean 283.
As for toughness enhancements, can't remember if I've taken them or not. I'm rather frugal about getting enhancements especially when I have no idea if I want A or B. A is an easy cheap grab, but B is awesome, but B is expensive and if I grab B now, it'll take me forever to grab C, etc, etc.
“No Battle Plan Survives Contact With the Enemy”
Toughness feat and at least 2 toughness enhancements are pretty much a must on any squishy class - that's 42 HP right there. GFL and +6 con are a must on any toon, that's 90 hp. Minos... yeah I can see why people swap it out when doing epic gear layouts, I can't imagine why people who don't have epic gear do it.

My bard did a sins the other day with 320hp and didn't die. o.o So I guess it depends on who you're playing with?
