Default sahuagin stronghold in red fens

I have completed all 4 of the quests in the Into the Deep chain but my log still shows one open quest in the red fens area. it's called The Sahuagin Stronghold, says the quest giver is Ravenwing and that I need to talk to Ta Prin, who will send me into the Sahuagin Stronghold.

when I trek on up to see Ta, the only option available is to repeat the Into the Deep quest. and Ravenwing has nothing more to say to me either.

I am not seeing any mission doors, gold or gray, on the main map. is there a 5th quest? if so, what am I doing wrong to get it to open up.

There is not a 5th quest.

I think you may have a breadcrumb quest from the marketplace. It seems those never go away if you don't turn them in before finishing the whole series.

It's not a 5th quest. It's just a storyline bridge, like what you get from reading the signposts and talking to the actual quest giver.

that must be it, I also have an open "notice" quest to talk to Gullwing that does nothing when I talk to him.

will have to remember to turn those in first

    thanks for the information

May bug report it, since it defeats its original purpose of helping people find the quests with less confusion.

    Default Ravenwing NPC broken

it's not really a bridge from another area (btw, i really miss the noticeboards),, the Ravenwing character is suposed to send you to Ta Prin to pick up the next quest much like the quest chain holders do in other areas,,, when finished he is "supposed" to acknowledge that you have finished the chain and was "suposed" to be fixed to do so wayyyyyyyyy back in update 8,, however,, he still doesn't work properly

Still doesn't work properly - same thing happened to me, as did to the OP from years ago...

After you have completed the other three quests, you are sent to talk to Ta Prin. When you do, she not only opens a dialogue box, but also gives you some (very meagre) "end rewards" just for talking to her. The windows can get messed up in terms of whether the dialogue or loot window sits on top of the other, and if you close the wrong one (e.g. to get a look at the other), it closes both - and you will never be able to get them back again or complete that "quest". Not the best design in the world, but we are talking about the quest chain which promised to 'introduce underwater combat to ddo' (not that I'm still bitter or anything ;p )

However, you will still get the final quest, and will still count as having completed it. Its just that the 'talk to ta prin' part will never be resolved. You could try repeating the first three quests and seeing if you can then talk to her again, but I dont' have the patience to run quests twice on the same life, so I've never tried that.

For Turbine to fix this, I'm pretty sure all they need to do is stop the loot window opening until you've clicked through the dialogue from Ta Prin.

I have left reports to GMs in game on this in which the GM has reported "we are aware of this bug, unfortunatly there is nothing we can do" as well as official bug reports in which i recieved a reply stating that they would look into the problem.... i had even coresponded with Cordovan in another thread in which he stated he would be looking into the problem,, still hoping that it may be resolved someday i realy hate abandoning quests that cannot be closed out which this essentialy is even if it is just a redirect to another NPC

I found a workaround to close Sahuagin Stronghold properly:
Talk to Ta Prin once; then select Close window. The end reward window is displayed. Grab your renown, and rejoice. Then chat to Ta Prin again so that she can bestow Into the Deep.

Default Recent proposed solution - FAILURE

I chatted with support. They point me to this thread. And, then recommend that I go and talk with each NPC that bestows quests and then go to Ta Prin and do as suggested. Talk and Close the window.

Well, I did all that. And, still no reward box for me to close out the Red Fens.

The above solution probably works if you haven't already run the Into the Deep quest. Which wasn't the case with me.

Now I have been instructed to submit a Bug Report.

I do know this,, Ta Prin is the person who will ultimately give you your reward,, you do not get one from Ravenwing.
Also, since "Sahuagen Stronghold" is basicly a redirect type quest, ie, Ravenwing sending you to find Ta Prin,, the XP for it is probably nil to meager at best.
However, that being said,, it would still be nice to have "Sahuagen Stronghold" close out properly in our logs and not have the double arrow quest bestowed/advanced icon hanging over the Ravenwing NPC every time I pop into the Red Fens to do some slayer counting or pearl hunting.
That also being said, since my fiance is away visiting family this weekend and I have a little time to kill, I am going to re-run the entire chain and try the work-around sugested by cru121 and see if it works. Will keep all posted.

    Default Confirmed

The work around does work and WILL close out Sahuagan Stronghold quest,,, however you will have to repeat the first 3 quests in the chain to get it to flag. What I did was abandon all quests except Sahuagan Stronghold (that one could not be abandoned) from the Fens in my quest log so I am not sure if just asking the NPCs to repeat the quests will work or not. After running the quests of course Ravenwing will still be telling you to go see Ta Prin so trek on up and see her. When you talk to her a dialog box will appear on top of a loot box. DO NOT,, i repeat, DO NOT engage her in whatever she asks you (apparently by talking to her it somehow breaks, because the first time thru I had talked to her),, just click on "close window". The box will close revealing the loot box below it,, and meager loot it is,, but don't worry,, she will offer you better stuff later if you repeat her quest. Grab a piece of loot and wallah!,, Sahuagan Stronghold WILL close out. Now you can talk to Ta Prin again and ask to repeat the "Into the Deep" Quest if you want (and are a completionist like I am) and grab the better loot she gives you at the end. Now if you want to go back and check Ravenwing the quest bestowed/advanced icon will be gone and he will Finally tell you that you have the thanks of the Raveneye Clan.

Thank you cru121 for finding this work around,,, it has been nagging at me for quite some time and now I can rest easily knowing my quest log in the Fens is finally all closed out

Darn it, I *sooo* wish I had read this thread *before* doing the 4 Red Fens. I had just presumed it was yet one more "known" bug that Turbine can't be bothered to fix.... (which it is, actually).

But the work-around presented makes sense, from a programmer's perspective (which I used to be); the logic-tree has to be completed as programmed, regardless of how it actually *looks* to the player.

I will re-do the whole stupid thing, most likely, as like others, I'm a solo completest OCD type person. *sigh*

I so wish Turbine would bother to pay attention to the actual bug reports...

... but if they did? What would we have to complain about, hmmm?
