    Default WOW ad on DDO forums...

    Anyone else notice the WOW banner advertising 10 days free while perusing the forums?

    SAme... AD-blocker so I didn't miss anything!! But it is annoying if that happend

    so? ads don't come for free. so turbine earns money with it. maybe they even earn more than the hundreds of thousands of ddo players moving to wow now would have netted them!?

    long term paying ddo players don't move to a boring old mmo anyway. lots of new players moved here because they were bored to tears with wow. lots of new players moved here because you can harass ppl for free.

    all in all this is pretty much a win situation for turbine

    Tolero said you should PM about any inappropriate ads popping up, though. Competitive games being among those deemed inappropriate, as I recall. This is so they can contact the people running the banner ads, and tell them that they don't wish to have that ad run on this forum again.

    If you see it again, catch a screenshot of it as well - then notify the appropriates.

    WoW and DDO aren't really competitors in the direct sense anyway. They are actually entirely different kinds of game. DDO is almost entirely instance based where as wow is kind of a sandbox game. I play both for different reasons. And all you have to do to block ads is tinker with your browser (=

    I only see the Driving or Dragons one ( DDO banner add ) when browsing DDO forums...
    On G-Land : Flavilandile, Blacklock, Yaelle, Millishande, Larilandile, Gildalinde, Tenalafel, and many other...

    rofl i have ten 15 day trial passes for WOW.
    but i'm thinking of selling them for some plat...... NOT
    but all i know is that i've seen that ad like 3 times but don't pay attention to it (i don't pay any attention to ads anyway )

    This is the reason why back in the day I ditched AIM so fast. I'm not about to put up with that junk.

    The Firefox browser with the adblock plus addon ends ads forever on this forum and many others.
