Can not load toons or main game.

I just recently bought a brand new computer and downloaded everything and now when I went to log in, it does not show what my toons look like and after waiting 15 minutes of loading the game will not load. Am I missing some kind of software? I tried taking down the firewall to see if that would help but to no avail. Thank you for reading this and look foward to any assitance in the matter.

I get the char screen but no chars are showing. I can click on char names, but when it goes to load screen it seems to not move beyond.. it doesnt load. have tried reinstalling game. not sure what else to try.
