    Default Greensteel items

I'm new to the Shroud and completely clueless about greensteel crafting, i searched around the wiki to get an idea of what to do first since it seems a very long and complex crafting system.

In my searches i found a couple of planners, started messing with those and now i've got a few questions:
1 - No greensteel rings? You can craft a greensteel cloack but not a greensteel ring?
2 - The only way to have +1/+2/+3 exc. int to skills and exc.cha to skills is to craft 2 separate items that grant exc. spell points as the main feature?
3 - What's about the shards of power? To upgrade blanks to t1/t2/t3 you don't just need small/medium/large raw ingredients and small/medium/large energy cells?

    Thanks

    1. No GS Rings. Although ToD Rings do use some Shroud Materials to craft their special benefits.
    2. If you want +1/2/3 Int Skills *and* +1/2/3 Cha Skills, yes, two separate items.
    3. Tiers 1 and 2 Require a Shard of Power and a Shard of Great Power. Tier 3 will require 1, or possibly 2, Shards of Supreme Power, depending on the end effects you are looking for.

Thanks for the answers, so this means that if my rogue wants to run around with +6 exc. umd and +6 exc search/disable he'll be running around with two items with wizardry VI and +150 sp ... time to start shrouding.

Well . . . if you're sure you want that, then yes. But neither of those is really necessary for a rogue, and I can't imagine spending the materials or gear slots for them. Also, keep in mind that you can fairly easily get +3 exceptional skills on Dragontouched armor (and it goes in the Eldritch spot, so minimal grinding, since you can buy Eldritch runes with Draconic runes).

One possibility is to completely disregard the exceptional int skills (since you can get every trap in the game without them). Then put +3 exceptional Cha skills on your Dragontouched and craft a set of GS goggles like these: +1 cha skills, + 2 cha skills, Haste clicky, Air guard (hastes you or knocks down enemy), and +2 exceptional reflex save (actually really nice for a rogue). (They also have Wizardry VI and +50 SP, but you can disregard those.) They're pretty expensive in terms of materials, but they'd let you get your +6 total exceptional UMD while being genuinely useful in their own right.

Along the same lines, a single-shard alternative to get the +1 and +2 cha skills would be these goggles: +1 cha skills, + 2 cha skills, Raise Dead clicky, and Deathblock. Definitely not as useful as Air Guard and exceptional reflex save, but only takes 12 large ingredients instead of 24.

I definitely like air guard or earthgrab guard depending on what you want (charisma skills or HP).

Also remember that before you worry about any accessories that you should get a radiance weapon which will let you blind the enemy and get sneak attacks.

    I use: http://perfectweb.org/ddo/crafting/base_crafting.php

This lets me mess around with as many combination's as I like.

If you're new to Shroud then I'd suggest to just run it a bunch of times and not worry for a bit, soon enough you'll have plenty of mats to make whatever tier 2 items you want. The real priority is to have multiple characters capable of running the quest. I'm about to flag my 4th character for the Shroud which gives me a steady supply of large mats.

    GL!
