Windows 7 SP1

FYI to those out there. For me at least, this has caused some wierd lag issues when initially loading the game. The splash screen doesn't show up for about 45 seconds now (just a black screen). I've had DDO "stop unexpectedly) 2 times in one night. Prior to SP, this never happened, not once.

I've heard some pretty bad feedback on SP1. I'm not sure even re-installing video drivers would help at this point, SP1 is pretty new (a week old or so now), and I doubt any updates have come to them just yet for SP1 specific issues.

I've heard people needing to re-install certain games, not sure what ones, they just said certain games, to get them working again.

For now, I'm leaving it as is, DDO runs, and I dread an install. Just be aware, it will be a little bit slower on load, and an occasional crash that hadn't occurred before may start happening now.

This is on a Windows 7, 64Bit system.

I just updated my computer (Windows 7) with SP1 this morning. I could not log in after.

From what I could tell, SP1 deleted both DX9 and the associated registry keys such that the Turbine loading bit could not reinstall it. All attempts to click "Yes, please install" resulted in error messages due to a registry key that could not be found.

I attempted a manual download of DX9....Fail.

I uninstalled DDO. I reinstalled the High Resolution form of DDO (same as prior)....Success!

As such, I will keep the download of the game stored on my machine to cut down waiting times if future Windows updates do such a thoroughly 'good' job of mucking out older software and installing new...

After SP1, I hit my video cards web site and downloaded the latest version. ATI/AMD has one for mid Feb. That cleared up a lot of my loading issues created by SP1.
