What level do you need to access highest lev spells?

How many stat points do you need in charisma to cast highest level spells? (Reason I am asking is that I have 14 and I got a warning not going to be able to utilize highest spells. However, I am well beyond 14 now but worried that you need a base stat score of something without enhancements.

At level 16 bards get their level 6 spells, which is the highest they get. They need 16 charisma to cast these spells (including +cha items, etc). So starting with a base charisma of 10 is plenty to be able to cast all your spells (if you don't care about DCs)

You must have a stat score of 10 + spell level. Bards get level 6 spells, so you need 16 CHA to cast. You get your first level 6 spell slots at Bard level 16.
