Still looking into this - it appears it may have been an issue specifically with the 5 Yarrs lotto BUT, I would like to clarify that characters that were imported from EU don't work in the lottery system. It treats them like a server transfer, and transfer characters also don't work (the only known workaround is to not play the character long enough for it to be archived then play it again, but that is obviously not a viable option if the character is one you actually like to play).

*scratches head* I know this is a work around.. but why not take the system off line, FAKE the date such that it thinks that EVERYONE gets archived, then fix the date and let players bring them back up out of archive?

Granted depending on how date stamped things are that won't work.

That's not my experience. I won, before the 5 Yarrrs Lottery, with a euro transfer toon, and he recieved the item. Just signed the tasty ham lottery that's going right now, with one of my euro transfers, and he just won 2x10 Tasty Ham.

Appears it's just the 5 Yarrrs one that didn't want to function for my toons, euro transfers or the one I created here.

I haven't touched my 4 toons ( who myddo tells me that won) in any way other than logging onto them to check mail for winnings

My toons all won on ghalanda server as well and my latest update shows 2/28/11 so it is updating properly.

So far, since people are getting their hams (even on characters that didn't work before) it appears that this was an issue with the 5 Yarrs lottery configuration. Tomorrow we'll set up some more 5 Yarrs lotteries and see if people can get those prizes. There is a SLIM chance it is something with those prizes, but I don't think that's the case as we've given them out in the past.

If a greater heart should happen to end up in my inventory instead of a ham, I would not cry. I think it was an issue with the lottery itself, since I won the haste potion lottery that same day. I also won a ham on every single character, so now I know they can all get prizes.

OK seriously, the winnings in these Test Lottos have come in normally, on my native G-Land Toons, on the one transferred from thelanis, on the ones from Europe, and on the TR ones.

I had three of my characters on Khyber win the 5 Yarrrrs lottery- none of them have anything. I don't really care about the ones on other servers, but that was annoying.

On the plus side, the ham lottery seems to work fine.

Am checking into this but a couple of questions while I have them checking the tech side....For the characters that won but didn't receive the item, Yes or No for the following:
- Showing a character update status after 2-22-2011?-Yes-2/28/11
- Did not True Reincarnate?correct-but did lesser a few weeks ago
- Never been renamed?correct
- Never transferred servers?correct

This info will help our investigation.

I am having the same issues, i have 4 toons (Tomalon, Eldrak, nudens, Minz) that all show that they won the five yarr lotto and nothing showed up in the mail.....on a side note 2 of them also won tasty ham lotto and DID received those.

Tolero, we have isolated your lotto's problem. Everyone has gotten the Ham test, and pretty sure everyone is going to report the Quick Boost lottos were received, so the issue behind the lotto is the 5 Yarrr's specifically. Either it did not like the same name for multiple lotto's within a small time frame, or the items themselves had a coding problem.

That is a very interesting theory. Considering how many things myDDO does based on names rather than primary key ids, I think you may be on to something.

Yes that is the fundamental point of this entire thread. I won 13 of the 5 Yarrs Lotto, yet 0 received prizes. For the Ham test you would of had to enter yourself, if you did not do so then you would receive none.

That is a very interesting theory. Considering how many things myDDO does based on names rather than primary key ids, I think you may be on to something.

Example, I win the Fast Foward lotto fairly regularly, but that has been a weekly. So the thinking is that the system did not confuse itself with the same name as it had a definitive beginning and end time for the Fast Foward lotto.

All the ones with the same name overlapped, which could have caused confusion in the coding that the lotto never ended and that the automatic mailing of the item assumed the item was sent.

I'll set up some tasty test lotteries today (who doesn't like ham for birthday right?). If your character won a 5 Yarrs lottery but didn't get the prize in game, please enter that character into a tasty test lottery today. If your character wins and receives their ham, please let us know! If they don't win their ham, please respond with the following:

• character name: Boochen did not receive ham. HOWEVER, she was deleted and recreated with same name, so that seems to be "normal".
• number of times True Reincarnated: 0
• number of times server transferred: 0
• number of times renamed: 0
• number of times deleted/rerolled: 1
• character originated on the Codemasters servers (yes or no): No

Zuula, Villiana, Sanuka, Lapoca, Haeldril (won twice) and Fatherjohn on Ghallanda all received ham (Fatherjohn has not updated since 2/7/11)
Ratbob on Thelanis received ham (last updated 2/10/11).

Remember any of the following circumstances will cause your character to NOT receive lottery winnings, so keep this in mind before participating in the tasty test lottery:
- Deleted and then rerolled with the same name check.
- Not showing a "last updated" status after 2-22-2011 (this can be found at the bottom right corner of the MyDDO character display) uhh, no.

This last bit seems wrong. I have two winners updating 2/7 and 2/10 who received ham.

Only characters I have logged into and played enough to get XP 'recently' got a ham. My mules did not get a ham.

A character I deleted a month or two ago (but is still listed on MyDDO as last having completed a quest in Oct 2010) got a ham.

I had 5 winnings yesterday for the 5 Yaaaaars Lottery
Now I'm up to 18 for the 5 yaaaars.

I checked a few characters, and there's nothing in the mail.

I know it's not binding and everything, but I keep thinking that if I had told one of my customers that they won something, I'd make good on it. Even if it was my mistake.

It costs real money to buy Turbine Points, and those points can be used to buy what was offered in the lottery....
