Right, please correct me if I'm wrong, but with the new trinket in the event at the moment, is there anything else a monk would prefer there? The one in question give +1 to damage, +2 exceptional seeker, and SHOCKING BLOW. Isn't that the same thing which the charged gauntlets gives, removing them as part of the required monk gear, encouraging gloves of the claw instead?
Please correct me if I'm wrong, I'd hate to spend all my hoarded loot on something which is mistaken ^^

Well, you could always go with litany (+1 profane bonus to, well, everything, from stats, to damage, and so on), or with the epic gem of many facets, thus equipping more red fens sets. But yeah, the pirate event trinket it's great.

Litany is always a solid option. But it is also a lot harder to get. The event trinket is indeed very nice.

Since it doesn't seem to be widely known: the Bold Trinket's +1 damage does not stack with the hobgoblin ship buff. So if you regularly run around with that buff, the trinket loses some of its luster.

Litany of the Dead is still better than the Greater Bold Trinket. The +1 damage doesn't stack with the +2 damage ship buff. If you don't have a Litany and have Seeker +6 elsewhere, there's not much else you could wear in the trinket slot that matters.
