Default Anyone upgrade Windows 7 to service pack 1 and notice slower loading?

I just installed Windows 7 service pack 1 and then ran DDO for the first time in a few days. DDO installed the latest update for the 5th anniversary but now I am seeing a spinning windows circle for about 15 seconds waiting for the medusa screen to appear. Does anyone else that has Win 7 sp1 get that spinning circle that never had it before?

I just updated 3 computers in my house to Win7 SP1 and haven't noticed any change.

After the installation, did you do a Disk Clean up and Disk Defragment? I do both after any Service Pack update and haven't had any problems.

Default Also seeing slowness after SP1

I installed SP1, ran disk cleanup and defrag, but to no avail. The program is not only very slow, but unstable. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

I am running windows 7 Home X64. I also notice a bit of a new hang between the time the client switched from the loader to the first loading screen.

Thanks for the "performance increase in certain situations" Microsoft!

I have had Exactly the same problem since installing Win7 SP1 on 32 bit (on an SSD so i don't defrag)
In trying to sort out the stability issues as well as the long wait with the black screen (my CPU seems to be overheating causing "Crash To Desktop") I re-installed the "Intel Chipset" driver for my ASUS motherboard and now I am back to normal (black screen is gone)

I still need to test out the stability (at present it CTD about once an hour)

    Hope this helps you.

I want to post a followup. I downloaded the latest 11.2 drivers for my ATI video card that came out about 10 days ago. The spinning circle after I hit the play button on the launcher now only appears for about 2 seconds instead of about 15, so it helped.

Thank you sir! The gap has returned to normal. I didnt realize new drivers were out. Is it any wonder AMD would release new ones so close to SP1?

I posted before looking, I created another thread. Yes, I'm getting the same issues here. I'm out of town for a day or so. I'll try updating my NVIDIA drivers to see if that helps and post back here with the results.

More info for NVIDIA users, latest "Official" drivers still have issues:

    http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=193541

Those on that forum have uninstalled SP1 and it all works again, that is an alternative if you can't find a resolution to the issues.
