I would think having concentration on your helm for if trouble develops in one of your parties and you need to step back and throw a heal scroll or cure spells when you were just meleeing and to not have that spell/scroll interrupted is a great advantage.
I ended up with enough green dragon shards after finishing my ratkiller to tier 3 that I ended up making a second hat.

I agree with a lot of what you are saying and I know there are times where I flat out would not need perform and wouldn't want to switch to my dagger (and do not have quicken on).

So after last night I have 2 fully upgraded hats. Seeker 6 Perform 15 and Seeker 6 Concentration 15. I ended up filling the haste IV and 35% more coins as well.

Tier 1 Cavalry Plate fits great with Warchanter II.

Previously I'd debated whether WC II was worth 5 AP's. Martial weapon proficiency I already had from splashes, Inspire Reckless can inspire drama, and medium armor was meh without an uber item e.g. marilith chain which who knows if I'd ever actually get.

But with Cavalry Plate being medium armor, it's a no brainer. And, it has no ASF whatsoever (relevant for UMD).

EDIT: at least on my bard it doesn't. The mouse-over screen says ASF 25% (reduced to 0%). I tried UMDing a True Seeing scroll and got no ASF check.

You are correct. Currently WC II reduces the ASF to 0. This means there is no ASF for scrolls in light/medium. My virtuoso still gets ASF on reconstruct and fireshield with DT Leather.

I will add that the full blown tier 3 Cav Plate is great for WCs. I put +2skills/saves (good luck) in my blue spot. 1 set of armor ups my saves by 7.

    Precisely so.
Since my hat was built to be a swappable item, I took the Archmagery/Perform 15 combo. Wear it at the shrine for buffing, switch it on/off for the Perform. 200 extra SP - can't go wrong with that.
