    Default Bard Request

For completionist, i might play a bard life.
Now, no matter how I try it, I cannot build a bard well.
Can someone build one for me?
Something that you would like to party with and will (hopefully) be fun to play.
    DPS would be nice.
using a 34 point build with a monk past life.
Feel free to use +2 tomes, as I can get those fairly easily, please try to stay away from +4's tho
If he had the dragonmark of chest buffing, that'd be awesome, but if it loses alot of usefulness or dps to get it, then its not that important.
Multi'ing is fine, i own every class, but do not own the halfbloods yets, if it is multi'd, It has to be majority bard.
    Thanks.

I'm somewhat new at building builds but I made this as kind of a magical with possible dps.
Im not sure if there are flaws as I havent played it very far but it should be fun.
I also tailored it slightly to what you said. I hope you like it.

Question: What raid loot are you packing from your past life? For Greensteel weapons, do you plan to go THF or TWF in your subsequent lives? Melee bard is probably your easiest option, and I can design him for pretty much any weapon or pair of weapons.

Question: How patient is your play style? One of a bard's most powerful tactics is the combination of Stealth and Fascinate. If you plan to zerg everything, get to 20, and TR again, then I won't bother with the stealth package (hide, move silently, listen).

I advise against following Metal Monster's suggestion, as it could stand to prioritize a little better.

    This.

We need more info from you before we can be effective in helping you!
Please split the class forums into REAL subcategories this is a jumbled mess.

im not packing much raid loot, but im not ready to TR yet.
only got 3 tokens, so i can manage to get more raid loot before its time.
and i am planning to zerg to 20.
i dislike playing a bard, mainly because i can never make one myself. lol
THF>TWF in the sense that it frees up room for the 3 feats to buff up chests, would could prove to actually be useful; provides the ability to pull +2 tomes from vale slayer area.

    anything else?

thanks again for helping me build the one thing im weak at building.

Try this. I've been playing a Horc with similar stats and feats. Mine has a hair more intelligence so I could fit in Hide and Move Silently, and he has the THF feat line instead of the Dragonmark line. His DPS is solid, buffs are everything they should be. Self-healing is adequate for soloing, but nothing to write home about. The build below will have lower DPS (no racial damage bonus and weaker glancing blows), though if you craft yourself a DPS greensteel two-hander (should be nice on more than one life on the road to Completionist), you should be fine leveling.

    Human 20 bard

    Stats
    Str 18 + levelups
    Dex 8
    Con 16
    Int 10
    Wis 8
    Cha 12

    Feats:
    1. Toughness
    1. Least Dragonmark of Finding
    3. Weapon Focus: Slashing
    6. Power Attack
    9. Lesser Dragonmark of Finding
    12. Improved Critical: Slashing
    15. Greater Dragonmark of Finding (or take this at 12 and Imp Crit at 15)
    18. Whatever you like. Maximize has merit if you want to improve your spell-based healing.

    Skills:
    Concentration (max)
    Perform (max)
    UMD (max)
Listen (none if you don't care about missing hiding monsters, half-maxed if you use a +listen item, maxed if you want to "see" monsters without an item)
Balance and Jump (whatever you like)

    Enhancements:
    Inspired Attack I-III
    Inspired Damage I-III
    Warchanter I-II and their prerequisites
Extra Song I-IV and Music of the Dead and Music of Makers; kind of a packaged deal. Around level 8, try to get the best +perform item you can equip. Try to Fascinate everything you can. It helps to practice the timing when soloing. Presumably you'll be convinced of how awesome it is by the time you hit level 12, at which time you can reset your enhancements and take the seven enhancements listed so you can "fascinate" undead and constructs, too.
Human Versatility (nice for UMD checks and beating up monsters)
    Racial Toughness
Wand and Scroll Mastery (full line if you like the wand/scroll healing schtick. If any class is going to step in as healer when the cleric DCs at the entrance to Vision of Destruction, it's a bard. Healing is not your forte in any event, though).
Whatever else seems nice that you can fit in. Racial strength and constitution have appeal. No doubt I'm forgetting other wonderful things.

you could always splash make your int a tad better (base 10 +2 tome at 7) take first level as rogue max UMD Disable Search Spot and get some points in OL then 2-7 all bard (taking perform/umd/disable/search) then level 8 be a rogue again maxing disable/search/umd perform maybe OL if you have points to spare. continue for traps monkey skills and good fighting also gain the (i think it's) 1.5 percent more DPS on SA which helps a bit but helps. also have basically a solo machine

    gor, i like it.
you sure that 12 cha isn't too low?
Especially that the greater dragonmark has a failure chance based on cha somehow.
just that having a dragonmark to buff up chests will help out ALOT to help pull things that i'll be using on the road to completionist.
Especially to pull more +2 tomes, just to make life easier XD

I never tried the dragonmark myself. You won't need more that 12 cha for casting (some people go with 10); you never need more than 16 (with an item) to cast all your spells. If you like, though, you can certainly pull points from intelligence. Heck, you CAN pull a point out of strength, but I'd be doing you a disservice if I let your DPS get too low.

JoeyWMD is absolutely correct about rogue levels, incidentally; they are an option. Things get complicated-- suddenly you don't want to dump Dexterity (because of Evasion) or Intelligence (because of rogue skills), and you delay bard abilities. But Evasion is good for lazy playing (What? Oh, how about that; I guess I am standing in a trap).

1st off dont do dragon marks on WC just cause you can -.- i have one 2bbn/16brd/2ftr (WC 34pt) and one 13 bard (SS 32pt). They playstiles are different
Spellsinger is all about buffs/heals - for me kinda meh :/
WC is brute WF who plays hevymetal songs and wack all on the head - i started with 12 cha , 10 is enough
I strongly recomend extend and quicken on both builds, for sellsinger go pure and i would multyclass WC either 16/2/2 - 15/3/2 - 17/2/1 - 18/2 you can make good combo from rog, bbn, ftr

What's weird is that I remember tacking on two extra intelligence thinking, "Oh, right, this is 34-pt." Math > me.

Metal, seeing that ending with 18 con and only 240 hp isnt good.
toughness IS NEEDED for EVERY class.

something i learned the hard way. lol.

it will be fairly nice dps using dual khopeshs though, but i'd put off oversized for awhile, and get toughnss asap instead.

also, being a spell caster, concentration is needed skill, compared to haggle which is only usefull when a plat farm fest event opens. lol.

    also, 9 wisdom, wat?
    guessing one left over point.

curious to know what the hp would be on the one gar built.

Metal, I mean this in the nicest possible way, but have you actually played a melee-specced bard before? Your suggested builds don't seem consistent with melee priorities. If you're looking for help designing a build to play, that's fine; plenty of people here would be happy to help you. When suggesting what someone else should play, though, please restrain yourself when you don't know what you're talking about. You risk confusing the people who don't know the class very well.
