guild leadership succession needs a hot fix now

I asked the way to do guild leadership succession earlier this week. But I still don't know when this issue will be solved.

Therefore I suggest that we have a hot fix for this issue. As some of you may understand that such guilds really need a new leader.

I agree, OP. I've seen the effects of guilds who lost their leaders.

The "hot fix" you mentioned didn't solve my issue. My guild is still not able to get a new leader.

sadly it might be time to call it curtains and start from scratch with a new guild of your own or someone elses or wait to see if turbine follows through with anything......... which as we all know may be a couple years..... time to look at some other alternatives sorry.

This has been an issue for quite a bit of time. Making a hotfix just for this issue now, would be pointless when they are going to deal with it in this next update. Other guilds have probably had to deal with this issue for longer than you and your guild mates have. This isn't some game breaking issue we're talking about here. Just wait it out, chances are, the fix will be out in the next few weeks.

Nahh, here is the best I can offer you.

Here is what you do. Get a list of all your members (should be under the Guild Tab)

Buy a Guild Charter, then Send each of them an invite, and Change the Guild Message of the Day, to tell them to join the new guild as the current Guild Leader is not active and you do not want them to be without a leader or that their work and effort should be vain.

Anyone that wants an active leader and wants a guild that has a founder who cares about it and them will join you. The others can be feed their loyalty cards to their displaced dictator.

Life goes on.

As it stands, until Turbine offers a real means to safeguard the efforts of the other members of the guild from this kind of situation, then this is currently your only option. I wish their was a way for you to usurp to preserve and lead the guild, as it seems you really care about the guild and it's members. But currently, there isn't and that guild dying along with it's vacant charter buyer is the only option left to the members and officers at this point. Yes, it pains me to tell you this, but it seems that your hard work and efforts were naught.

So, since there is no real way to re-establish leadership to the guild, the only real option is to just cut ties, and move on to a guild that has an active leader or found you own guild with perhaps a similar name. If you are moving on to another guild, it won't hurt you to ask the leader if they will take the other active members of your guild as well.

Sorry this happened to you.

I have had to do this, and it is a painful choice to make, but, it also teaches you to keep your giving to the guild close to the vest, unless you know the leader, and know they genuinely care about the guild and it's members.

The "drama explosion" is from the group that wants a way to steal charters and airships from the guild leaders that paid for them. That is why they make thread after thread like this one....and the one you made on the topic.

That was funny!

However, on a somber note, they really need to do something about this, as with the In-Out of any game, and all the new games coming out, this most likely will become a growing problem as time goes on and a fix is in dire need.

Added: I can offer this, if you are on Orien, and your guild leader goes AWOL leaving you wondering what is going on, "Links" will offer to take in all your active members who want a guild to join in the interim. We don't have much to offer as we are currently a small guild, and not high level, but we do offer a leader that cares about it's members and the guild enough to pass the torch then to just leave the guild in the dark.
