I believe Orange names are immune to Charm Person/Monster, but not Suggestion. Justification may be that Charms can theoretically last forever, but Suggestion lasts a fixed amount of time.
In Epics, Orange names are not "Minions", and as such, do not get hit with the -10 saves, -d20 to-hit nerf.
i see some mobs which are orange at normal and red on elite difficult.

Yeah, they are immune to Charm Monster, Dominate Monster and Symbol of Persuasion but fully susceptible to Suggestion/Mass Suggestion. Interestingly, the Symbol is a fixed duration spell like Suggestion (with the same duration too) but it does not work on orange nameds.
Minion is only a -5 saves penalty, as well. (-10 was the initial version trialed on Lamania briefly, it allowed DC 35 ungeared WF Sorcs to dominate quests like you would not believe).

Sap works on em (provided that they are not an immune creature type to begin with) - can be very helpful in making certain fights less messy, giving a 15/30 second window to clear out the regular critters and have everyone ready to concentrate on the miniboss.
Orange named monsters are like the 18 year old assistant store managers at McDonalds. They have a big name tag, try to boss around the other trash in the area, and have no real authority to do anything of meaning.
But at the end of the day they are just the orange peels on top of the garbage heap.
To echo the replies so far, their main functional benifit is the bump states/saves and protection from some forms or CC.
